I'm looking for a new all around innawoods knife. Anyone have opinions on either of these two?
Well, ones an innawoods knife and the other is designed for an entirely different purpose.

BK3 is such a fucking monster. i have one, it's amazing. there's a vid out there of ethan becker and some firemen tearing apart a car with one. i use mine for fuckin everything you can imagine innawoods. i had an ak bayonet back in the day and the things dont even come close to stacking up to a bk3.

bk3 rocks for an innawoods knife. Its got 110 uses and it doubles as a heavier tool than knife.
Not to hijack the thread but I have a 20% off coupon from a knife distributer and I was really looking at the esee 5 and the benchmade adamas (the fixed blade). Thoughts?

I've read a lot of stuff saying the AK bayos are pretty good utility knives. The wire cutter and lighter weight seem like a good trade off for the BK3s heft and durability.

They're both fixed blades. The adamas has a folder and fixed option but I was looking at the fixed. I've owned the adamas before for like a week but my bdudes gf bought it from me for her bf as a present.
The esee 5 however is just a tank and I like that warrenty esee has.

The bk3 is an urban rescue tool, the am bayonet is a bayonet, asteak knife would work better for an all around innawoods knife, if you like Beckers look at the bk10 or bk7, the bk10 is about the size of the bk2 or esee 5 but its thinner and more functional than either without being weaker in any practical way

AK bayonets are meant primarily for stabbing, anything else is a secondary function; they will perform poorly compared to purpose-made tools. This is coming from a guy who loves AK bayonets.

I own an ak bayonet, they're cool, but the blade rubs on the metal retainer on the sheath so it never stays sharp. They are definitely going to be cheaper than a bk3 though

I have that same ak bayonet. the blade geometry and steep bevel make it very impractical for anything that isn't light "cutting" or stabbing

the soviet and Russian make their bayonet out of some very hard steel, they chip and break a lot

people don't use SKS bayonet as a knife so you don't seen one with damage

BK3 kicks ass. It can dig shitters, chop wood and the flat part can be used as a tool to open a bear canister. Watch out though my buddy lopped off his knuckle with one while chopping wood cos its not as intuitive as a hatchet. Had to pack out the next morning with his hand in a splint. Theyre a bit heavy too so you gotta cut some weight elsewhere
Since we're on the topic of bayonets, how good is the OKC3S bayonet for an all round knife?

It's a great camp knife. Downsides are the sharpened top edge and the serrations though.
Ak bayonets don't have as heavy a blade as a bk3, so it wouldn't be good for chopping.
