I was thinking for one day of food in my webbing I might just go for a couple of those really energy-dense food bar things.
But for another 2 days of food in my pack I'd really want something more substantive so I didn't crash from all of the sugar.

Hey bro, I have IBS as well. I started taking a bunch of fiber though and it's really fucking helped. I shit twice a day like a normal person and it's solid. Admittedly I had to experiment to figure out how much fiber I needed to regulate myself, so what works for me might not work for you. But you might want to give it a try. I pop 6 at night before bed and 6 again in the morning and I'm set.
