As you may have heard, Vincente Fox has suggested that Mexico would declare war on the US over the issue of the border wall. Luckily Mr. Fox isn't in power right now, but assuming he was, how does this shake out?

Obviously the Mexican military is inferior to that of the US, but just look at how much trouble America had with a couple thousand insurgents living in desert caves. If Mexico has a stronger will to fight, they could cause a lot of trouble, especially with millions of Mexican nationals on the inside. Can the US really finance a major military operation with such a large country? Russia had to give up bombing ISIS after a couple months to protect their warchest.
