>Be Swiss
>Find out that a local neighbor that used to go shooting at my local range died
>Know that he had several guns since we used to talk about it
>Decide to wait for the grieving time to be over to go there and maybe buy some guns from the widow
>After one week I go there and ask if she's willing to sell me the guns he had for a fair price
>find out that that she took the guns to the cops and fucking gave them away for destruction
>call the cops at the local police station that she gave the guns away
>they tell me that there's nothing more they can do and that they will dispose of the guns

I'm so fucking mad right now. She literally gave away a P210, a SIG 550 (all customized), a Stgw 57, several random shotguns, a K31, a Mauser of some sorts and a Colt AR15 that he got in the 80s that had a scope included.

Why do people do this? Have you guys ever experienced something similar?
>>
>>29912797
>ever experienced something similar?

I'm not European, so no.
>>
>>29912813
This happens regularly in the states. It's always women that turn them in, clueless and/or malevolent.
>>
I just found out my bitch ass "grandmother" sold all of my grandpa's guns i was promised before she passed away, also a Hitler youth knife. I didn't care what happened to anything else of his estate, but i wanted those items.

I'm sure all that money was spent on Coors and penny slots.

>I'm sorry anon, I've watched you grow up, your uncle might've wanted you to have this gun, but I do not.

So fucking mad. It was a Remington 700, it wasn't much but I loved that gun. The first one I ever shot.

She turned it over to the police and they destroyed it, I haven't spoken to her since then.

The gun wasn't included in his will, but it was agreed I would have it once he passed.
>>
>>29912824
Yeah that seriously pisses me off as well. I don't understand how people could be so anti-gun they would rather give them to the cops for free so that they can destroy them instead of at least getting some money out of it by selling them. There is something really wrong with those women.
>>
When my grandfather passed away my grandmother said I could have all his guns that were in the closet. I told my uncle which ones I wanted to take home with me and then I find out that he sold the Luger and Krag before I could bring them home.
>>
>>29912824

Yea, it happens pretty damn often. Buybacks too. And they're the ones unwilling to sell usually.

Which is why if I ever get married, I'm making sure my future son(s) get my guns before I die if possible.

My grandfather took the 30-06 and his double-barreled shotgun, soaked them in motor oil, wrapped them up in burlap and buried them under the shed. Found them ruined YEARS after he died.

His M1 Carbine he threw on a woodpile and burnt it.

Didn't want us to have guns.

Because they're shitty human beings. It's not even a political thing at that point, it's just blatant disrespect for the deceased.

If I had a relative die who had tons of leftist shit like a Che Guevara painting or that crap, I would get it into the hands of another family member or sell it and get the money into one of the grandkid's college funds.

Put together a Remington 700 in the exact same configuration his rifle was in. Drive to her house. Show it to her.

Explain that no matter how much of a petty cunt she is she can't stop you from carrying on his gift (in spirit, at least), and that her late husband would be disgusted with her.

At every family reunion for the rest of your life start conversations in front of her about how much fun you're having with the rifle, and how you're going to leave it to your own son.

With the exception of those conversations, treat her like she isn't there.

My dad always talked about how my granpappy kept an old luger (probably a nambu, he was infantry in pacific and my dad is gun-illiterate) in the freezer. When he passed I was going to try and find it but it was likely stolen by a damn gypsy that used to squat on his ranch
>>
My grandfather pawned all his guns to pay for liquor before I was even born. When he died, he had to his name one shotgun that I never identified because he shot himself with it and the cops took it. I think he stole it to begin with, too, but since he was dead it's not like there was a trial or anything.

Everyone else in my family hates guns.

try telling the widow they are worth thousands of dollars. ask her if someone gave her $5,000 would she give it to the police for destruction?

maybe you can still convince her to get them back, since they are still her property

also, did they have any kids? maybe you can get the destruction/police process halted if you can convince kids they have a claim to the guns

My father had a interesting collection, his prized piece was a gun he inherited from his father a, Prussian WW1 mauser C96. He wanted for it to be a family heirloom and pass it down to me. He died in a car crash before he put me in his will, so the gun went to my mother who was now divorced from him. The bitch gave it to some retard who made art symbolising peace from smelted weapons. HE FUCKING MADE IT INTO A CANDLE HOLDER IN THE FORM OF A FUCKING DOVE AND RETURNED IT TO HER. The same fate befell a couple revolvers from the 1930-1940s as they were my fathers only handguns. The rest of his guns(a couple rifles and a ww2 bringback GW43) she gave to the police. She justified her action by saying: "Your father raised you wrong when we divorced , you cant like these killing machines, i wont let my son inherit guns". Needless to say ,my fathers antique collection was lost and i no longer speak to my mother as she thought a 20 year old guy who was raised with guns couldnt be allowed to inherit them.

you probably shouldn't be too surprised about it. sucks about the SAA, if it's a colt those are worth a couple grand at least. don't give up though, speak with a lawyer (shouldn't cost too much for a consult). you have a claim of inheritance to them, the state is obligated to give property to next of kin if there is a viable claim. the collection is probably worth the few hundred bucks it would cost to get a lawyer to draft a formal letter to at least stop the destruction of the guns while your claim shit goes through the courts

My mother did this bullshit to me when my grandfather died.

I was/am the only grandson on that side of the family. Pap made it clear that his guns were to go to me. Pap falls and breaks his back, has a stroke in the nursing home a week later. Hell of a way for the paratrooper to go out. 377th PFAB WW2.

Pap was a bit of a hoarder and had planned on having a big auction to fund his retirement but passed too soon to have it. So my sister and her 10+ year fiance go over to my mother and offer to help clean the house. My quasi brother in law finds my Paps H&R 22LR revolver that he kept in his shop for protection and my mother just gives it to him. He meet my Pap maybe twice, three times at most and my bitch of a mother just gives him one of his guns.

Auctioneer comes around to clean up the house and store. My mother gives him the remainder of the guns to sell. I was away on active duty and couldn't come home to help clean up the house.

I came home and asked my mother for the guns that were promised to me. She then tells me: "Well Dave liked the one so I gave it to him and the rest went with the auctioneer."
All of my what?! She was in the God damn room when Pap said to give those guns to me.

Luckily I had made it home before the auction and went to see the auctioneer. He told me he without the will or a lawyer I couldn't get the guns as my mother was the owner now. My mother never produced the will and I honestly don't know if Pap had one. So now I have to go to auction to get the guns that were suppose to be already mine. There was a sporterized Enfield, an old Sears and Roebuck brand bolt action 12ga and a muzzle loading shotgun that had been in the family since it was made new. My Pap showed that to me when I was a kid and told me the full family history on it. His grandfather had given it to him and his grandfather's grandfather had purchased it around the time of the Civil War.

To be continued.

I would be damned to Hell before I was going to allow a piece that had been in the family for 150 years go so my mother could get a couple extra dollars.

Day of the auction came around and the first of my Paps guns to come up was that damascus double barreled percussion shot gun. I nearly spent every dollar I had to win that at the sale.

The next piece was the bolt action 12ga. I won that as well. But I had a whopping $60 left. I tried to get the Enfield but it went for just over one and a half.

Well as it went on, originally the house was to be sold and the money split between my mother, uncle, two sisters and our only cousin. Mom decides she is going to keep the house and move into it. After the sale, auctioneers fee and dumpster for junk left over. I received a check for $176 because that was all there was to give out.

My mother gave up on the house 6 months later and gave it to my older sister, who just promptly put it on the market as soon as the ink was dry on the deed.

Fuck women and their greediness. My sons will have everything before it goes to the will.

>suicide guns
funny little story
shooting mate is the head police coroner for 2 of our states
since he is a regular (even semipro) shooter he takes all the gun related homocides and suicides
police takes in the guns as is usual, relatives get offered to have them back in case of a suicide
99% don't want anything to do with them
so he simply asks them if they mind if he takes them
people are happy to be rid of them not realizing that also could have them sold by auction via the cops
he's got about 50-60 pistols and rifles that way already, all stored in a big fucking safe in his office

When you have children and once they're old enough to figure out which ones are just retarded and which ones are deserving, form an irrevocable trust in which you specifically leave your weapons to them as they only beneficiaries. To my understanding, it is significantly more difficult to (legally) violate those trusts than it is for them to rape your will. It'll at least give them more ammo to sue anyone who tries to steal those guns that you didn't want having them.

I'm happy that my immediate family isn't a bunch of cunts. I have a will in which I have detailed who gets what and I doubt it'll be controversial (I'm young and not have much people are going to fight over and bitch out)

Just make sure you update your shit every few years to reflect any gains or losses to your estate. As you get older you could also consider giving away any weapons that you don't use much anymore to pro-gun relations that are adults and you know would appreciate them.

Maybe talk to an attorney about putting a punitive provision in your will that anyone who violates your will is written out. ie: you have that one anti-gun child and you aren't certain where you went wrong. He/She had kids who are adults now. You want those grandkids to get some of your guns. Your asshole kid decides to steal the guns and destroy them. That asshole kid is now written out of the will for inheriting your house and the adult grandchildren now inherit it instead.

I'm not an attorney so I don't know how likely such a provision is to stand. I understand that surviving spouses get a little too much leeway in deciding if they want to screw your will. But it's worth considering. If you can get such a provision that is likely to last, it might make problem people settle the fuck down to ensure that they still get something.

At least you all have grandparents and great-grandparents that had guns. Mine were all busy running from the commies in the Korean War. Why do people do this? Just in general why do people think its good to hand in firearms to be destroyed?

It makes me so unbelievably angry, ignorant idiots who do this are like ignorant savages who use ancient texts as arse wipes.

My grandfather died recently. Both my parents and my grandmother died in a car accident when I was a kid, so he basically raised me. I've been in college for the past four years, so I haven't been home much.

He was an avid gun collector and a licensed dealer. He taught me my love of guns and he always said that when he died, the entire collection was going to me.

Now his brother had been helping out around the house while I was away at college. When I got back after I got the call, all the guns were gone. I asked his brother, he says he gave them all to him. Moreover, any and all legal documents not pertaining to where the finances go are nowhere to be found, and he never had those on file. I did get all the money though.

Here's a sample of what he had that his brother was "given":
.357 Mateba 6 Unica
M16 A2
AKM
Colt Python
Walther PPK w/ Suppressor
Walther P-38 with Nazi Markings
.357 Deagle Brand Deagle
BAR
1970's Remington 870
Colt SSA (Replica)
WW2 issue 1911
WW2 issue Springfield
M1 Garand
FN FAL
Martini Henry Mk. IV Rifle
Lee Enfield SMLE
And many, many more.

I have half a mind to use the money to take him to court and make him produce proofs, but I don't want to provoke a legal battle for the money and there's too much bad blood in the family already.

to most normal people guns are tools if there isn't anything special to them
so there is no attachment, just a tool like a screwdriver

some dangerous tools however make people have respect from them as they should
if you aren't brought up around guns then they are scary, because the media and other fools say they are scary

so what do you do with dangerous scary tools that you don't want/need and rather have vanished ? well you can't just throw them in the trashcan, some kid or whatever could pick it up

so you bring it to the police (your friend and helper) in your naivity to have it dealt with
nogun normies don't realize that this dangerous object still has a value to somebody, may it be material or emotional

the normal nogun normies bringt the guns to a dealer and either get a little cash or just leave it there
even if you just get a sixpack of beer or foodstamps

This happened to me too, except it was before I was born so I only found out about it from my dad.

My granfather was a Quartermaster officer in WWII and was involved in processing a lot of captured equipment. He liberated 5 Nazi handguns and brought them back, and when he died in the '60s my grandmother sold them for practically nothing.

The especially stupid thing is that my grandmother was a lawyer (one of the first female lawyers to pass the bar in her state, actually) and from a good family, so it's not like she needed the money.
