Either way, how is the government profile barrel in any way better than the A1's? The entire reason it exists is because of a botched procedure in the design stage where the people in charge of the A2's development assumed that straightness gauges getting hung up on fouled gas ports were actually doing so because, in their imagination, soldiers were using their M-16s as prybars and bending the shit out of the barrel. This wasn't the case. Now you have increased barrel thickness in an area where makes fuckall difference other than adding weight.
