brought a child down into an unsecure combat zone, they should have cleared it out first so what ended up happening wouldn't have happened. Or at the very least move the family back away from the front line. If it wasn't a sniper with that skill and instead say another squad the girl could have caught a bullet

Literally just watched this today, the scene where Upham just sits there while Mellish gets stabbed never fails to enrage me.

>the scene where Upham just sits there while Mellish gets stabbed never fails to enrage me.

i think that's the mark of a good film, that a scene can make you feel that much emotion.
>>
>>29911356
For sure. I've seen the movie like 5 times, and the knife fight never fails to make me cringe. It's intense.
>>
>>29911405
I lost a lot of my emotion for it when I found out the german soldier wasn't the same guy Mellish convinced everyone to spare earlier.

Hit me really hard the first time, though.
>>
>>29911434

but steamboat willie killed miller.
>>
>>29908798
>a white guy stands by frozen while the german kills the jew
it's a well done scene, but a little on the nose, don't you think?
pun unintended
>>
>>29911434
I also used to think this
>>
>>29911499
everybody did. The casting decision made was one of the most confusing things ever done in fiction since Tolkien named his two bad guys "Sauron" and "Saurumon"
>>
>>29911485

get your /pol/ shit out of here.

miller was making bad decisions ever since they lost caparzzo

>let's attack an MG nest that has no relation to our primary objective
>lose medic
>taking a PoW and then setting him free
>PoW is recovered, and later kills Miller
>let's take this fucking pog and make him an essential member of our team

not to mention
>fucking SNO skips out for almost half of the first engagement in bridge defense, disappears for a combat quickie
>>
>>29911531
Hey man, don't knock the combat quickie
>gotta keep morale up when the shit gets rough
>>
>>29911531
t. Someone who clearly didn't watch the movie

Miller decides to take out the machinegun nest to prevent it from ambushing the next allied unit to stumble across it.

He can't keep the POW because they're going INTO enemy territory, not out of it.
He doesn't shoot the POW because muh war crimes

He literally explains that he needs a translator because they're in france, and tracking down Paratroopers in france isn't the easiest fucking thing if you can't speak the language.

Please never watch any films again you daft cunt, you clearly disrespected the 3 dollars you used to buy it on DVD if you weren't going to bother to pay attention

>Miller decides to take out the machinegun nest to prevent it from ambushing the next allied unit to stumble across it.
you dense motherfucker

the name of the film is saving private ryan not take out an mg42 in the middle of bumfucknowhere, france. literally everyone was telling him not to fucking do it, because it's not their job pic fucking related

>He can't keep the POW because they're going INTO enemy territory, not out of it.
>He doesn't shoot the POW because muh war crimes

they wouldn't have a fucking PoW to worry about if he didn't engage the MG nest in the first place, you sheep-shagging blunderfuck

>He literally explains that he needs a translator because they're in france, and tracking down Paratroopers in france isn't the easiest fucking thing if you can't speak the language.

we were talking about that pog fucking up when he was supposed to bring ammo and save the guy in the last battle. and it's not even his goddamn fault, it's the captain and the SNCO's fault for not keeping him in line, that's literally heir fucking job.

even on fucking /tv/ i've never had to explain to one retard how a person in a film was acting like a retard.
>>
>>29905270
I dont even care about that, nothing in the plot appealed to me, plus the squad set up seemed corny as fuck

>45 year old captain
>chunky fat staff sargeant
>some random sniper
>loud mouth italian BAR gunner
>some pube stached faggot
>vin diesel
>limp wristed type writer commander
>going behind enemy lines to rescue some paratrooper
>>
>>29905270

first part was surprisingly accurate

>US soldiers run out of ammo from shooting at all the Germans

I don't understand what you are referring to in the film. Can you clarify?

>guy killed my comrade because fucking war dude
>save him from angry comrades
>guy kills another comrade because fucking war dude
>"my character has decided to shoot you and let all the other prisoners go, they only killed my less fleshed out comrades"

Fuck this movie and it's "characters"; the scenes have so many inconsistencies between shots, muzzle flashes never match up with the explosions of white dust squibs, the ad-lib scenes are painfully acted, awkward and cringy as fuck and the amount of debris and soldiers changes between hundreds to dozens depending on if it's the German or American point of view at Omaha beach.

>battle is brutal and you can die any second (Omaha beach scene message)
>battle is cool and you can run through hails of bullets and explosions(Bridge scene message)
Fuck Spielberg having his cake and eating it to between his serious war film about death hatred and war and a stupid action flick.

>woman loses 3 sons, go to bring back forth to save her from utter grief
>by sending 8 men also with mothers and loved ones, so they can all go through utter grief
everything from the premise to the shitty dialogue of this film pisses me right off. but I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy the battles, if not for the reasons otherwise stated above.
