With castle law in my state, if someone forcibly enters my home, car or place of business, I have the right to fear for my life, no matter if they are there to use my bathroom or kill me or steal my TV. Tasers dont work at distances reliably (i.e over 25 feet) , if you shoot your taser at a man at a full sprint and one of the prongs was to miss or not penetrate then you are unlikely to be able to go to your lethal option in sufficient time to prevent your skull getting filled in with machete.
