As a raptor grip owner, It offers no serious benefits, really. I really wanted a blunderbuss, so purchased mine along with a maverick 88 for a shits and giggles combo since real blunderbusses are very expensive. They're more comfy for firing from the hip vs a traditional pistol grip due to your wrist being perpendicular to the recoil vs in line. If you buy a mossman like the cruiser that's pistol gripped from the factory, it's only subject to overall length requirements vs the overall and barrel length requirements of a normal shotgun. This means you can subtract from the barrel any length over the minimum 26in from the other end. So with the raptor on a factory pistol gripped shotgun, you can have a 14in barrel that's non NFA http://shockwavetechnologies.com/site/?page_id=88

Make sure that if you do this mod, you measure the length parallel to the barrel since that's how the atf does it. I haven't done it since my gun wasn't factory pistol gripped, I just know about how it all works
