I am also a fan of the crowbar. If you pick one up in a store you can feel how evenly the weight is distributed across the bar. It's the most balanced melee weapon I've found.
If you hold near the middle you can swing and fuck shit up quickly with minimal effort, and you can even sharpen the end for a piercing weapon. (But this would add suspicion that the tool was intended as a weapon instead of a prying tool in court.)
Plus is SHTF you can use it to wreck and clear windows, and pry the fuck out of doors.
