top tier entree, and the best snacks in the game after the other shitty vegetarian ones. You usually get a ranger bar
3. Lemon Pepper tuna
dank shit, due to the fact that its name brand tuna and not a brown/green bag. For some reason this makes it taste better when you have been in the field for a while

Spaghetti is the shit if you get cheese with it and mix that shit in. Best cold is chicken pesto pasta. Cheese tort is an all around fav so great for trading out of the new shit buffalo chicken is pretty awesome. The that ratatouille is absolute shit.

This thing, with a bag of bacon-cheese and bbq sauce was... awful. The bread wafers they stick in MRE's are pretty good though.
I make my own occasionally. This is an older version. I switched to retort pouched and Compleats, but if you're only carrying a few- a few tin cans don't add but an extra few ounces in comparison.
I also learned not to use citrus cups. They don't go 'bad' exactly but over a year or so they turn brown and rather unappetizing.
This is pretty decent, provided some cunt doesn't steal your hot-sauce packet that it comes with.

Use a gallon freezer bag. Its thick and resists tearing and air penetration. Take a look at nutritional charts for standard MREs and build a meal plan based on the data based on your own preferences. Calories are the most important line to track. Get a membership at COSTCO, Sam's Club or BJ's Wholesale and buy in bulk. Pop tarts, Clif and Cereal bars are popular for breakfast. Get some cases of retort pouches- tuna, chicken, rice, entrees, ect. nuts, trailmix, honey straws, and hard candy are also good, as are fruit cups or apple sauce. Also buy or save moist towlette, salt & pepper packs, plastic spoon, and a few folded paper towels. all the accessory stuff put in ziplock sandwich or snack bags. Save and add desiccant packs- or a teaspoon of dry rice.
Seal the freezer bag by zipping up almost all the way- then put your mouth over the rest of the opening to suck out all the air possible- closing the zip with your teeth. You can further seal the opening with a strip of duct tape. Arrange into as small a package as possible and fold the bag over itself so its about the size and shape of an actual MRE.
You will spend some money doing it this way but at most half what you would buying the real deal- for a similar item made up of just shit you like.
