I have okay work. Did you used to live here?

>>29876059

>>
>>29876106
Lived in Poky for 5 years trying to get things going after school but there are just no opportunities for growth or advancement there. Love that state like hell though. 12 acres cost the same as a 1/4 acre lot here in CA.
>>
>>29876069
Nice
>>
>>29876133
Lol, I'm originally from CA.
Should have tried Idaho Falls m8, more going on there.
>>
>>29876158
Same problem as before. I know guys who took jobs in IF but the only ones getting raises or moving up are the ones working out at the site. I make triple what I did then in Poky and even though less guns are available in CA I can afford more of them plus the ammo. To be completely honest though if there was a decent job up there I would take a pay cut and move back but that will ever happen.
>>

>>
>>29876325
Yeah it's growing like crazy but you will hit a ceiling in salary and then never get past that. There are just too many other people willing to do that job for less there.

Is Ski's guns still open there? That guy was hilarious and openly racist, would always piss off the Mexicans that came in.
>>
>>29876370
I've heard the name Ski's but haven't been there, I'll have to check it out now.

I go to Steel Gun & Pawn near the Walmart just off the freeway. Occasionally the new Cabelas on Hitt, since they started carrying Red Army Standard 7.62x39
>>
>>29876388
Having a cabelas when I lived there would have been nice but I hope they didn't push out the little guys. All the guns I bought when I lived in Idaho was from Ski's or cal-ranch.
>>
>>29876433
Cal-Ranch is still there. Nah it's weird there's a whole new part of town that's gone up in the last year. East of Hitt and south of Sunnyside there's a new Cabelas, Broulims, Popeyes, and Hobby Lobby all in one parking lot

If the NF were to make any tangible progress as a movement it could take on the form of a libertarian nationalist group. Covington even said himself he doesn't care as long as white people actually do something. So fuck off faggot.

I got a fellow ex mil friend that lives in Boise now.

I tried to get him to get a PAL. So he could smuggle stuff in from Canada. Though he won't because it takes 10 hours to drive to the border from Boise.
>>
>>29881964
It's a lost cause. Just make peace with it. If white people wanna have babies with nonwhite people, that's just what's gonna happen.
>>
>>29881580
>>29881964
This is pretty much Idaho. Everything is going along great and then out of nowhere comes a neo-nazi. The Idaho white-supremacists biggest foe in Idaho is literally other white people. They pick one of the whitest states in the country and then complain about their lack of progress in their "movement". People would take them much more serious of they did their demonstrations in L.A., San Francisco or Seattle.
>>
>>29882670
That's not what the problem is. The problem has always been that ever since the government declared it illegal for communities to be able to control who they let in based on race we have had no choice about our own futures unless we start a civil war. If non-whites (excluding northeast Asians) could produce the kinds of societies that white western nations could they wouldn't be here. If there ever is racial conflict its because of the cucked whites who forced the nonwhites into white communities.

Also, your gun rights are going to disappear as the country becomes less white. Already, we have an issue with illegals counting towards population for representation in congress which gives places like California more votes. Brazil 2.0 is what some of you cuc/k/s are asking for.
>>
>>29875833

I grew up about three miles from Ferguson, MO and went to school with the niggers who started the Black Lives Matter shit. I bet you're the type of guy who says "but I know a black guy and he isn't like that". Do you think that they're just going to let Idaho stay white forever if they have their way?
>>
>>29875833

I've often thought of living in some bullshit part of the country like Wisconsin or Nebraska or Idaho.

Can you tell me what it's like in this obscure little corners of our country?

Is there a difference between Northern Idaho and southern? Is it just a weird little place nobody lives?
>>
>>29883824

Wisconsin is great if you stay in the north or work in manufacturing. We actually still do manufacturing unlike the rest of the country.

Only problem is very little of it is done in the north so there is that.

And the whole place freezes over for what seems like 11 months a year.

IDAHOANS!

Tell me, what's your opinion on Boise? Fag town? Denver of the north? Or is it a decent idea to move out there?

I'm a welder by trade, and want to escape this insanity laden shit stain of a state, Kalifornistan. Idaho seems the most logical choice for a huge number of reasons.

Trust me, I won't shit up the state, I'm Libertarian to the core, and just want my funs and land and to live in peace.

So: Where in the treasure valley do you suggest I consider?
>>
>>29884495
I know it's kinda easy to get into fabrication and welding in East Idaho, I honestly couldn't tell you about Boise area m80
>>
>>29884611
I'm not opposed to east Idaho, but are the wages even somewhat comparable to Boise?

I've grown up well below the poverty line, but I'd like to do better. It's not all about money, but I would like my family to live in financial security, if not comfort.
>>
Don't let it die, this is probably the biggest Idaho thread in /k/ history
>>
>>29885919
Frankly I'm equal parts concerned about how dang small the /k/ userbase is for Idaho, and happy that they probably haven't found this place.

Also, quick question: how Mormon is south west Idaho, or Idaho in general in YOUR opinion? I'm a Christian (Presbyterian specifically), and they don't exactly take too kindly to me....
>>
>>29886160
Southwest Idaho is just northern Utah. But as speaking as a Mormon from southeast Idaho respect us and be polite and we will respect you and be polite in return.
>>
>>29886201
>respect us and be polite and we will respect you and be polite in return.
>we will respect you and be polite

No, not in my experience. They've been quite rude, and especially when visiting a Mormon establishment.
>>
Going to visit family up there in 2 weeks. Any one know some good dirt bike trails near/an hour of Boise?

>>
>>29886543
well, shit (for me, again, bad run ins with Mormons in the past).

But on the plus side, Idaho has less than 0.1% Muslim population. Hell yes.

And Boise seems to have some good PCA churches, so I'm good to go there.

Honestly, as long as I'm not discriminated against, I'm fine. I won't mess with you as long as you don't mess with me (and even then I won't mess with you to be honest)

>>
>>29886612
Yeah stick to Boise or northern Idaho. If you can't get past your fear of Mormons then just stay out of the south and east of Idaho. Idaho, Utah, Arizona and to some extent Wyoming and Nevada are as based gun-wise as they are because of the Mormons who settled it. Just recognize you are moving to an area with a dominate culture that is not your own and that should help.
>>
>>29875833
Born in Boise but lived in Alaska most my life. Wished I live down in Boise with all my family but the wages down there are total garbage. Think I might just start spending the winter down in Boise since my job slows down in the winter.
>>
>>29886612
>Idaho has less than 0.1% Muslim population
I understand they have a megamosque in Boise now, and HUD now claims the authority to enforce community diversity by plopping as much Third World trash in your vicinity as they please. >did you start the conversation out by yelling you aren't mormon
when they asked for my LDS membership record number and I told them I was a Christian, not a Mormon, I got the stare of death. My RIA 1911 immediately hit highest of the high MSRP, and I nope'd the fuck out of that gun store.

And when Mormons come to my door and I start to debate with them regarding the trinity, they hot foot it out of there with an equal evil stare.

Still, I mean no ill will to anyone. I just don't like people like that, it's not conducive to a healthy atmosphere (something which sounds corny as hell, but coming from where I've been, I want nothing more than a calm, nice atmosphere to live out the rest of my days in).

But that all said, Christ does call for us to go and make disciples of all the nations, so I really don't know what I'm complaining about here.

In Idaho working for the forest service and living an hour and a half drive away from the nearest town that's got a place I can leech wifi from, though at some point we might get internet out at the barracks, which would make putting in timecards and reports much easier.

How do I get your job?
>>
Can any Idahoese help me out?
>>29901304
>>
Lived in Idaho for 27 years. All you need to know about it is that it's run by good ol boy ranchers. Has a higher density of Mormon's than Utah. There are very very few non white folk. You'll get paid shit for wages. And rent keeps climbing up and up. The gun laws are awesome. Everyone is armed to the teeth.
I moved to New Mexico and make 10k more than I did in Idaho. But I still miss that place like crazy.
>>
>>29901525
Go shoot out there, the training area is a great place to do it. Hit pleasant valley road and head south till you pass the power lines. There's plenty of good spots off to the right of that road. If there are troops in the area the range officers will come along and let you know. the tank ranges are a few more miles down the road and are used by the marines more than the guard.

Pulaski duel on top of a yellow pine.
Joking aside, it started with addictively checking usajobs.gov every day to see if new job announcements were made, and then applying for those. In this case the job I've got was part of a bulk announcement for region 4 (Idaho, Nevada and parts of Utah and Wyoming). This season it was all bulk announcements with specific announcements posted a couple weeks ago for stuff that got forgotten about or they didn't get get filled during the large bulk posting)

After applying I spent the next few months (the bulk job posts started in november with Region 6 for oregon and washington), chasing down who the local contacts were for the positions/locations I was really interested in to introduce myself to the supervisors and get information about the program. Each one was a little different, for example in southeastern oregon I was in the running for a position that would be maintaining a few campgrounds and acting as the armored car for the fee sites, where on the coast of oregon I would have been doing off highway vehicle trail maintenance as well as regulations compliance checks for ATVs for spark arresters and telling off folks that drove off trails, meanwhile there was a position I was on the list for in Alaska that would have had me, a shotgun andrain gear out in the backwoods working on remote cabins in a bear viewing area. Bear in mind this was all posted under "recreation technician" postings with just a basic outline of what rec techs do and not what each position needed.

I also was in consideration for a fire tower position out in Arizona, but ultimately I got the call to go to Idaho first, and then for about a week straight I had to apologize to the 15 other guys who called offering me positions.
>>
>>29901808
So TL:DR
>Watch usajobs.gov like a hawk (you have to know what you're looking for unfortunately)
>apply fast, and have your own resume rather than the site form
>call the districts to find out the local contact, and call often (about once a week till you get a response, then get a timeline if they expect information from HR to be in their hands by x date, call a day or two after that to confirm your packet made it in provided you got past initial selection (it'll say that on usajob on the application status)
>and just keep a timeline with the people you're in contact with, and keep in contact.
>don't give up hope

That last one especially, during the hiring rush things get hairy and some people flake out after the job was offered, that's actually how I got this job (oddly enough I was the first on for the season and it looks like I might be the last off since I'm not in college anymore), because I had been persistent, the job got offered to someone else but then they flaked out and I was second in line.

And now I've gotta jet, battery on laptop is dying.

The guard generally trains first weekend of the month, and their annual training is the second or third week of July. You'll only see tanks on pleasant valley road at night. That's when the tank school at gowen field takes their tracks out. The tankers like to have fun with their lazer range finders and laze the cattle on their way out. Makes the cow jump and bawl when they get hit. It's funny as hell to watch if you're lucky enough to see it. I used to drive around there at night then crawl to a high point on the hills out there. Thinking I was sneaky. I watch the tanks in their camps scanning the valley. One night while i was sitting out there watching and smoking a cigarette a scout snuck up on me, tapped me on the shoulder and bummed a smoke. Then proceeded to low crawl off to the other side of the hill. Tankers would see me in their thermals and on full moons would wave. I knew the colonel at the time and my dad and him started at the guard the same day. So as long as I stayed out the way I never got messed with.

Another cool thing is watching the Apaches flying around. They'll do simulated gun runs on you when you're driving out there. Then fly by and wave.
>>
>>29896903
Pretty accurate.

"Fuck off, we're full" is a very prominent mindset, especially with the constant influx of CAfags who don't realize ID is literally one of the worst places you can move to if you hate guns and conservatives. Really though, if you're pro-gun and at least politically neutral we're pretty welcoming.

>>29901121
I never fucking hear any stories out of here. Maybe the spooks realized a lot of the people here are the sort that will actively hunt them and not give a fuck rather than shit themselves.

Only thing I've had was the time I encountered something strange in the north end of Boise.

>>29901849
I fucking love that shit. They use my friend and I for dusk practice without a doubt, pretty neat when you realize they're watching you, Start shooting your best lol. We stay out pretty late when we do go to pleasant valley and both run blatant commie guns. One of these day's I'm going to have to put together a tusken raider outfit and make the car look like a bantha just to mess with them.
>>
>>29886933
The state government is pissed with the idea of large resettlement here. Feds want to drop a shit load of them in Kuna. We've handled refugees for years in this state (I've known a few and they were pretty cool) but never under these circumstances or in these numbers.

If the feds get what they want I'm expecting some sort of actual battle out there before all is said and done. No doubt some group of shitheads is going to try to make a shariah law zone and get reminded of where exactly they are.

I lived in an apartment complex full of tagic (or however the hell you spell it) from Afghanistan after the invasion in 2002. Their food just fucking stunk. And after they moved out you could still smell it in all the apartments they lived in. Every single working aged male had a Mercedes. So the parking lot looked like a high end neighborhood. But the apartments were the shittiest in town. A sight to see for sure.

I moved here with my parents from CA but they moved up to integrate because they were basically the opposite of your typical Californian already anyway.

I got a job working in landscape and thinning brush and caught a bit of shit for the first few weeks...but, once they realized I was cool, not liberal, and worked my ass off, I was basically 'one of them'. One of those guys is still a good friend even though I don't work there any more.

in the 80s our family would vacation in Idaho in the summers. It was paradise. We'd hit Zimms (hot springs) on the way up, fish upper and lower Payette, and keep going on up to Priest Lake.

Priest Lake has crystal water, white sand, and blueberries and raspberries for days. We'd gather berries and make pancakes that were more berry than batter.

Idaho is amazing, at least in summer. Winter is probably a little nipply.

I lived in the wilds of NorCal for years, but still miss Idaho. Hope you guys are thriving up there.
