My first metric Mauser.
>>29873053
I've completed the bandoleer to hold 40 rounds but I haven't taken new pictures yet.

>>29872919
Well i just sent in for my C&R, what are some good places that take C&Rs?
I need some new milsurp. My buddy is getting ready to move and he has the pictured turk that he doesn't shoot much, might offer him some money for it because I really do enjoy shooting the thing.
>>29872919
So I just bought a 1954 Tula SKS for $450. How good is this?
>>29873233
That's not too bad these days, Russian made SKS rifles tend to cost more then they're really worth. What kind of condition is it in? Numbers match? etc etc.
Related, my 1953 Tula SKS
>>29873286
It was advertised as having been arsenal refinished and having matching serial numbers. He said he has only ever fired 15 rounds through it.
>>29873581
Sounds like a good buy then, they're great rifles, I love mine.
How are nuggets to shoot? I was looking at one today and I noticed it had a really narrow stock, seems like to would make recoil a real bitch.
>>29873597
Interestingly enough, the auction went on for 14 straight days with zero bids until I posted the one and only winning bid.
>>29873616
They're not that bad, they do kick but if you're ready for it then you'll be fine.
Ordered another mag for my MAS off gunbroker the other day, so that should be getting here this next week.
>>29873776
MAS-36 or MAS-49?
>>29873995
49/56, though I have a MAS-36 too.
Posting the best milsurp.
>>29874110
I don't have an M1 yet but I'll reply with my Hakim. I need some more 8 mau mau
>>29874148
I would really like an FN49. I also need to get a nice 98K style Mauser, and an Enfield (or Ishapore). As well as a K31.
As soon as I get my AK74 parts kit built, I'll be hunting dem surp deals.
>>29874110
Not even close.
I might of even found a source for the wear parts so it can keep firing.
>>29874183
Got this just the other day
>>29873991
Gross
>>29874706
How so ?
>>29873112
Indeed.
>>29874734
It's sporterized.
>>29874824
But it can be fixed. Yeah , the stock is fucked , but it can be helped back into its former glory
>>29875023
The ground off charger guide is not so easily fixed.
>>29875023
But until you do that....it's ugly.

Enough ouzo to keep Hunter S. Thompson pickled.
2.5 milsurps
>>29879383
/k/anadian?
>>29879404
Couldn't be, the middle would be a prohibited firearm for sure.
>>29875147
It was my grandfather's, he bought it back when they were $10 a rifle. He cut down the handguard and drilled it for a scope mount. Yes it's ruined but I don't really care for its monetary value as he passed away two years ago and wanted me to have it. The Charger Guide was cut off so a scope could be mounted. I could get the drill holes filled and new handguard if I wanted. I probably won't though. Personally I like it the way it is.
>>29875147
Well, youre dumb.
>>29879404
Do you realize how expensive a garand and fal would be in canada? Im not even sure theyre legal
>>29879404
>posts 1000 dollar rifle next to 1500 dollar rifle next to svt
>Omg he must be canadian to afford that svt!
>>29879629
Fal aren't legal. Garand are.
>>29875517
More nice nugget
Its bonerin time
>>29884561
Same year and arsenal as mine.
Anything I should look out for or be aware of getting a M95?
>>29884638
Youll never shoot it
>>29884589
Any transitionary features? Mine doesnt have the mag cut off but has the old sights and stock disc
>>29884638
Invest in reloading. Prvi makes or did make the cartridge but it's unobtanium and not easily converted from other brasd
I really want to get a Garand. Is around $1000 the usual for a decent one?
>>29884965
I have about only 100 rounds of 8x56r I'm saving for special occasions. I've shot an M95 in 8x56r once.
Definitely very under-appreciated rifles.
Why is the M1 carbine so popular, expensive, and the ammo so damn expensive?
It wasn't that great overall.
>>29882701
Good luck finding ammo.
>>29888070
>30-40 Krag
>Hard to find
Lmao what
>>29888064
>Why is a popular thing expensive?
>just bought some spare parts to keep on hand
>500rnd crate of .30-06
Im gonna shoot the fuck out of this.
>>29884965
Why might that be?
>>29885289
Already have. I spent my tax return last year on dies for all sorts of milsurp calibers, mostly ones I don't even own yet (236 Navy dies are expensive as fuck).
>>29889023
>236 Navy
Is that the same as 6mm Lee Navy? Im too lazy for google.
>>29889294
Yes, yes it is.
>But you don't even have a Lee Navy
I don't have a lot of things. But I have dies for them. In fact I'm hard pressed to think of a smokeless milsurp caliber I don't have dies for.
>>29890211
im not juding. I have 4 rounds of 6mm Lee Navy that came from estate of a Span Am war vet.
Once I get my hands on one im going to find out if the primers are still good. :-)
>>29888089
>>30-40 Krag
>>Hard to find
Only remington still makes it, it's like 1.50-2.00$ per round, and very few places carry it.
Riddle me this milsurp. I'd I take my 10/22, strip the wallpaper off the stock and BLO it as well as adding provisions for a heat shield and bayonet lug, will future collectors call me bubba? Um nor sure how many of you also collect old fudd guns.
>>29890550
>Future collectors
>10/22
I don't think that one's ever going out of production in our lifetime
Just got a Mosin, it's the second gun I bought. Near as I can tell it's a 1933 Izzy rearsenaled in 1946. It has a hex receiver and is still largely cosmoline.
>>29890589
It doesn't need to be out of production. There's already collectors of the pre-poly triggers, and more recently the crinklecoat receivers
>>29890550
10/22s are not historical. unless you have papers saying John Wayne owned it or something theres nothing wrong with fudding it out.
R8t me m8ts
>>29872919
How much would it be roughly for a middle quality Enfield mark IV?
>>29890994
8mm/8
>>29890994
What's the knoife?
>>29872919
I'm thinking of buying this p14 Enfield for 600 Canadian fun bucks, the guy sent me the following pictures, can y'all check it out and let me see if it's worth it? I'll be picking it up in person so I can take a final look.
>>29891150
>>29891155
Bore
Seems to have a decent amount of rifling left
>>29872919

Should I guys?

It looks to be a solid rifle. Maybe a little expensive, but it's hard to tell because $600 CAN is like $12 American right now.
I'd pay $350-400 without blinking in the US as long as the numbers matched
>>29878336
How difficult are those to obtain?
>>29891263
There's been one on sale near me for a long time by a collector for 7000 Canadian, not the marksman version though.
>>29891198
600 cad is like 450 USD right now, good point about the numbers, I'm gonna ask the guy to see if they are mismatched. Enfield's aren't like mausers though, right? Only a few parts are numbered.
>>29888374
>Why is an expensive thing pooular?
>>29891150
What's that weird insert on the wood?
>>29891357
Looks like a repair.
>>29891296
the big ones to look for are the bolt handle and the receiver. Preferably the stock, too.
The barrel's number will be under the stock and harder to check.
My lgs has a Norinco SKS for 379. Matching numbers, no cosmoline, and no pitting or cracks. Should I get it? I have been looking for an SKS
>>29891378
I guess with Enfield's the bolt head and the receivers are the only two will really matter? I have a 1903 Springfield and the barrel has been changed in 42 since these rifles go through a lot of wear in active service.
>>29891373
I guess so, it's a pretty big repair insert, it kinda adds character.
Polished a mosin round out of boredom yesterday.
>>29891095
1945 german army bayonet
>>29890999
There is no such thing
>>29891263
Not very if you got 3k
>>29891373
I've seen quite a few pictures of p14s with a strip in that area, actually.
>>29892011
There were ~98,000 of them made.
They were conversion of the No1Mk1 and Lee-Metford Mk1 to the No1MkIII pattern.
Changes included moving the barrel inner band, changing sights, changing the wood work and nosecap, rivetting a clip guide in place, and a few other changes.
>>29892504
Source? I cant find anything on google about them
>>29892534
Ian Skennerton. The Lee-Enfield
>>29892541
Interesting. My books dont mention them, wiki has nothing, Ive never seen one, and there doesnt seem to be a single picture of one online. I think its safe to say the op wasnt asking the price of an obscure enfield variant
