A door gun makes the most sense to me. Seems like it'd be a pretty good platform for it, more firepower than any single belt-fed MG but less complexity than a rotary gun. It'd be perfect for the smaller helos that European militaries like.
>>
>>29849760
It is, most likely. Don't worry though, it's new production and not a hacked up historic gun.

I also have trouble understanding what the point is supposed to be, especially since it's still in .30-06.
>>
>>29849686
I don't understand why you'd modernize such an obsolete design. There are much better battle rifles out there. If for whatever reason you want a SAW-type weapon with a box mag you should modernize the Bren, ZB-26, FG-42 or even a WW2 Japanese LMG, they were far better.

Naw, nigga. The Marine Corps has moved back to the "automatic rifle" concept, rather than a true LMG. An Automatic Rifle is far better at sustained automatic fire than a normal assault rifle (much heavier barrel, etc,) but without being as heavy and balky as a true LMG that requires a belt feed. Much like the soviet RPK.

Ironic, after years of trashing the BAR as an insufficient LMG, they're returning to the concept.

its a german made k98, captured by norwegians after the war. rechambered to 7.62 nato, used by the army as standard rifle, then some of those were accurized and there you have the nm149. they run german made recievers from before 1942. and were norwegian armys main sniper rifle untill 2013

Are you autists honestly worried that a short range, rangetoy pistol has sights that will slightly deviate from the point of impact? 99% of us will never fire our weapons in self defense, and even if we did we wouldn't have enough weapon proficiency to benefit from more exact sights. Molesting military relics is dumb. It doesn't matter if they're100 years old or10 years old they're tied to history. Plus it destroys their monetary value.

I found it bizarre that they used a Tok in kingsman and not something like a 1911 or some kind of p226 clone.

IIRC that underbarrel shotgun attachment actually functions as well as they had a licensed gunsmith making the weapons/modifying them.

>Though the 7.62 TKIV 85 sniper rifle has been modified extensively compared to the standard Mosin–Nagant rifle, the use of the old receivers in these rifles makes them arguably the oldest small arms in current use by any military. Some of the parts used may date back as far as the 1890s.

I wonder what that heatsink-looking object under the barrels is for

Honestly doesn't really bother me. The paint/cerakote on that last one might be hard to deal with, but otherwise you could pop that M1 right out of that stock and put it back in factory wood. In a way it's even a good thing, because it lets you shoot your gun without wearing out historic furniture.

Meh, it's meant to be a beater service pistol, not a race gun. I agree that it's overpriced for what it is, but I don't think a threaded barrel or flared magwell are necessary. (And they just add places for grunts to fuck the guns up, and more spots for grit to get into the gun.)

Hey, I never said it was the right decision, just that it's a 100 year old gun that's still getting updates and still in frontline service.

You know, though, when it comes down to it, the argument could be made that virtually every handgun in military service today is in one way or another descended from the 1911.

Wasn't it a Maxim-Vickers?
The Vickers company purchased Maxim after all.

For fun.
But modernize HCAR is still heavy as fuck.
>BAR 20 lbs
>HCAR 12 lbs
>M14 9 lbs
Probably just for your bench queen purposes.

Chamber that thing in 5.56 and you have a better IAR-style rifle than the M27.
