"tactical" pants, there are tons of different options. To me a BDU pant is way more comfortable than jeans. They stay cooler, are lighter and easier to move and climb in, don't give me ball soup, can be hand in a variety of colors. Even bitch basic BDU pants are excellent pants compared to jeans IMO.
To me, the idea combat pants are take a standard BDU, makes the belt loops 1" wide, ditch the bullshit strap synches in the back and replace them with 1" wide velcro straps, keep the buttons on the pockets, 50/50 nyco, maybe a Teflon treatment, gusset out the crotch a bit, 1" wide velcro straps at the ankles and backs of the knees.
Absolutely no "D" rings, secret pockets, ankle pockets, should have no more than the 2 hand pockets, 2 butt pockets, 2 bellowed thigh pockets. Maybe do like a Mk I, Mk II with the only difference being those built in knee pad slots.

It's not a huge deal, but I suspect that the spring being fully compressed in the buffer tube is probably bad for longevity. Putting excess stress on the buffer tube threads and whatnot.

One big point: You'll never fully remove the copper residue, you just need to get the copper 'saturation' leveled out as part of break-in
