Thinking about getting a bullpup style rifle ... does anyone have experience with them? Pros & Cons? Ive been reading lots of articles on line about them.

>reloading seems like a bitch

Cheers

Reloading one with a bullet button is even more of a bitch.

AUG owner here.
Reloading one is not a bitch it's natural as fuck. They are heavy for what they are. Accuracy apparently isn't the best but is way within acceptable limits. I can answer questions about the AUG.

Why is it so A E S T H E T I C

No clue. Every time I look at mine it's like seeing it for the first time.

what other guns did you shoot before choosing the AUG?

whats your least favorite thing about that system?
>>
>>29842095
Not many actually. It was the first 5.56 rifle I'd shot, since guns aren't in my family.
List starts here:
> like I said, too heavy for a 5.56 carbine. They didn't even try to lighten the hunk of steel that is the reciever.
> charging handle forces a "palm up" action, can interfere with optics and really tear up your hand if you aren't familiar with the weapon.
>hard to customize. The muzzle device is dated and could use upgraded to something more effective. This is difficult since it's a unique threading.
>pretty much forced to use the vertical forward grip, which wobbles just enough to trigger my autism.

That's all that comes to mind. It's a fucking cool rifle, and I dominated with it in a rifle course. It's pretty damn good, just needs to be like, $400 cheaper, otherwise it gets blown out of the water by an AR build of the same price.

Been looking for a truck gun and am goobering over short weapons because of the PDW class

Anyone know a short grip located magazine maybe in .357 sig or, and i know this is a long shot, 7.62x25mm?

could i get a Keltec Sub 2000 and have it re chambered in .357

Could i expect to shoot things at 300 yds with minimal drop out of a 16"+ barrel?

Is such a thing possible for .223? What are the laws on pistol carbines anyway are they just long pistols or anemic rifles.

Yeah. You wouldn't think it'd have been that hard to put a brass deflector on it. Guess it was.
>>
>>29842294
I'm pretty sure you also have to swap out the bolt to a left-handed one, which most people would not bother purchasing.

Love my AUG, BUT she has some problems.
>1
You pay 1600+ out the box and it doesn't come with sights, as in there is no fucking way to shoot the damn thing. That is unless you get a scoped model, but that's fucking ridiculous throw in some sights fucking Steyr
>2
It will mark the stock so get the $30 brass deflector if that bothers you
>3
Hard to find 20" barrels
>4
Sexy A1 style scopes are nonexistent anymore, that one is personal to me.

Oh and to add
>5
The charging handle is piss poor and should be fucking fixed, it's $.20 plastic steyr angle it down and out more so people don't fuck their hands on scopes
>6
Parts are not hard to find but they are expensive. There's one name in town for them and that's PJ.
>7
Proprietary mags, not a problem now cause there was an over importation, but in the future it is a possibility of $40 mags.
>>
>>29842022
FS2000 owner here, they are compact, ergonomic and well balanced. Mag changes on a FS2000 are a little trickier due to the mag well gasket but changing mags on other pups is easy. Just requires a different training method.

I enjoy mine but some people don't like pups. Might have to try one before you buy one to make sure you want one.

>Wobbling foregrip.
Mate, that's a fault.
Early Lithgow models had an epidemic of it, but the newer production models have it sorted.
If I were you, I'd check with the manufacturer to see if they'll fix it.
>>
>>29843048
I mean he could theoretically do it but who the hell would rebarrel a keltec
>>
Bullpups are borderline meme guns

The IWI ones have crap accuracy
The FN isn't sold anymore
The AUG is eh
Other ones are less common

The keltecs might ironically be some of the better ones at least on paper

If IWI fixes their accuracy issues I might like the x95
>>
I have lots of experience with the F88 and the M4.
The Styre wins in all catagories but one. It is not availbke in 7.62.
But styre is a for profit company, if I asked they would make me a 7.62 AUG, the first one would cost six figures, the second a lot less.

>>
>>29842022
My only issue w/ a bullpup has been that if you have a round in the chamber go kaboom, it's much closer to your face on an AUG than say an AR.

This is unlikely, but I like my face shrapnel free.

The few bullpups I have shot were very ergonomic. They felt heavy but I may have just been a little bitch. Overall I think they are well balanced
