Family. Guns are unanimously strong in my family, even in my extended family.
I didn't really have much in the way of resources in my early 20s, but after finally receiving that shotgun, I just logically progressed to pistols, rifles, carrying, then advocating for 2A.

Friend of my dad's 20 gauge shotgun, age...16 or 17. We popped off a few rounds into an empty field for New Year's.
>What was the first firearm you purchased for yourself? Age?
I'm not entirely certain which one was first, but it was either a knockoff 870 (New England Pardner Pump) or a Henry Survival Rifle. I was 18.
>Bonus: What first got you interested/active in guns?
I'm not certain I can attribute it to any one thing. I didn't grow up in an antigun home, thankfully, and my dad was in the Army Reserves (as a POG, sure, but someone's gotta keep the logistics train going). I also played a fair amount of vidya with guns, and watched a lot of Discovery/History Channel.

I remember being enough into guns to doodle them in school as early as 6th or 7th grade (right between Columbine and 9/11, what luck). I actually remember this one cunt yelling at me because an Albanian transfer student (her family had fled to the U.S. because of Kosovo) decided to emulate me doodling guns.

I'm pretty sure I was born with it, ever since I was little I've loved cap guns, nerf guns, etc. I really can't explain why. The only vidya I was into as a kid was metroid and Star wars, so it wasn't that.

>First fired
SD9VE, Age 23
>First bought
Technically the SD9VE, though I did buy a black powder kentucky pistol first. Also 23
>Interest
No idea. Entire family is super anti-gun. At some point in my childhood I decided guns were my thing and started trying to sneak myself every toy gun I could. Later it turned to first person shooters.

It stayed super repressed for a long time though, because of the fear of what people would think if I started buying guns. Back in January of this year I got into airsoft, and then in February I wondered why I didn't have any real guns.

Now I have a nugget, the SD9VE, a Garand, the kentucky pistol, a Marlin 100G, and a Cimaron Frontier (on layaway)

That's what two decades of firearm blueballs will do to you I guess.

hmmm my first gun had to be an old .22 bolt action, probably when I was 13 or 14.

Never bought a gun, only had them given to me. I got my first when I was probably 15.

My grandpa got me into it. He's got quite the collection that's all going to me when he passes. Luckily I think he's still got a good amount of time left. Sorry, didn't mean to get sentimental. Pic Related is him when he married his second wife.

>What was the first firearm you ever fired? At what age?
A Nagant gas seal revolver, of all things, and I was 18 or so. It belonged to a reenactor friend and he happened to have it in his truck when we were hanging out up in the mountains, so we fired a few rounds off. My parents are libtards so I never got to shoot when I was growing up.

>What was the first firearm you purchased for yourself? Age?
Hate to admit it, but I've never bought a gun. I'm planning to do so as soon as I move out of California. All I have right now is my grandfather's hunting rifle (Remington 760), and do most of my shooting with friends' guns.

>Bonus: What first got you interested/active in guns?
Movies and TV, I guess, but I'm not sure. Not vidya because I liked guns before I was really playing them, my parents always tell the story of how they gave up on preventing me from having toy guns after I chewed a sandwich into a pistol shape and ran around "shooting" it as a little kid.
>>
first firearm i ever fired was an old bolt action marlin 22lr (cant remember the exact model) when i was 4 years old (25 now)

the first firearm i bought is kind of a tie cause bought them same day, one was a ruger 10-22 and the other was a Stoeger Condor O/U 12 gauge. bought them both as soon as i turned 18

my interest in firearms came from my dad sort of. he would let me shoot his 22 rifle and revolver when i was younger. I would always get frustrated that i couldnt "make the holes as close together as dad did" and would burn through every penny i got for the longest time training with those guns

I had a bunch of friends who told me cool deer camp stories in elementary school at lunch and when I finally went hunting I was hooked.
Then when I was 14 my best friend in high school's dad was a doomsday prepperbwith a huge arsenal and lots of NFA stuff. Him and I were on the varsity team as a freshman and when we travelled to San Antonio we'd stay at his ranch and shoot full retard AR's and suppressed M1A's and stuff.
Scared the shit out of my parents when I showed them the videos of me shooting full retard guns at tannerite but I've turned my dad and he is in the process of getting his CHL.

I went duck hunting with my dad since before I could even hold a shotgun up. What really got me interested in non-fudd guns was when I was 12. The first year deer hunting, I read an American Rifleman magazine at the cabin and fell in love with scary black rifles. I haven't missed a deer season since, and it was a condition of me being hired that I get every day of gun deer season off at my job. Haven't had a Thanksgiving meal at home since I was 12 and I never plan to have one at home again. Even when I'm too old to go out, I'll hold down the fort.

I had a gunsmith check it out and he said the gas cylinder was out of spec. I personally gauged it and tested it on other rifles and it is not out of spec. First -real- firearm was all at once. Handful of pistols from .38spl to .45ACP, and a shotgun. I was 23 or 24. Which was only a year or two ago. It was a cheap add on to the license safety course my instructor offered if people wanted to have some general feel for time behind the sights.

First purchase was last year. A sexy S&W 586 6" .357 mag with blue finish.

I got fascinated with guns at a young age from vidya. Mostly the cheeky kid loving to shoot stuff and enjoying wholesome family games like Quake, Unreal Tournament, and Duke Nukem. But once the console era shifted to discs it was all about WWII games for me. It also sparked my history interest so from there I started doing more research into the 1930s-1950s for... Everything. I'm borderline autistic when it comes to something that gets me interested. I go ham and hold on to it forever.

First time was in December just last year with a Smith and Wesson .357 revolver owned by my old fencing coach. My aikido teacher's, son also let me try his Smith and Wesson .44 pmc.

Here's a picture of the first target out of three.

Ruger 10/22 at age 22

see above

Probably video games. Columbine happened my freshman year of high school, which nixed everything shooting-related for minors in a hundred miles.

I was 7 years old. I found my second oldest brothers Python, he was 17. He said "you like snooping in my shit, well come with me". He took me to the prairie near our house and loaded a single round into that revolver. I could barely hold it up but I pulled the trigger. The recoil set the top of it into my forehead and it made a small gash, blood was spilled.
When he asked if I was happy that I went behind his back and messed with his stuff I only replied " can I shoot it again". I had blood dripping down my face and off my chin from the barrel slamming into my forehead and I only wanted to shoot it again.

My brother Eric, may he rest in pieces, loaded it up and showed me how to hold it.

So there you have it /k/. From better days in the USA, a 7 year old learns about guns. I never looked back. I grew up on the south side of Chicago in the 70's and 80's. A white kid who carried a snub nosed 38 at the age of 13.

My heart aches for the tyranny you youngsters have known. You can't play with the explosives I did growing up on the 4th. You never knew cops who just crack you head when they caught you with some dope or something instead of giving you a charge and fucking with you life. I feel bad you kids never knew real freedom. I really do.

Peace, Rusty.

.50 double barreled muzzle loader at 12, loaded up by my cousin's asshole husband.
>What was the first firearm you purchased for yourself? Age?
Ruger Mini 14 factory folder at 28. Came with as standard stock, factory side scope mount, factory 30 round magazine and 600 rounds of ammo for $600. pic related. This was in 1995.
>Bonus: What first got you interested/active in guns?
Honestly, i was casual about guns and only owned two into the 00's, the Mini and a New Model Blackhawk in .357 Magnum. I got introduced to shooting by my karate instructor in 2006 and by 2008 had started amassing a small collection beyond what I needed for the competitions at the club.

I just wanted to thank you for giving us all that ammo at MWNF. Nuggetfest was awesome to begin with but you giving away all that ammo was amazing. I never even saw that much ammunition in any of the LGS around my city at onetime. You must have brought 7 or 9 thousand rounds and just said shoot this shit up so I don't have to carry it home.
I know you asked everyone to shut up saying thanks but holy shit dude that was like $5,000 you just gave away. You are the best Rusty, /k/ is lucky you are one of us.

You nuggetfest fags better say thanks, you know that was an awesome thing he did.

Rustys wife treated a wound I had. Never even asked. She heard me talking about it and dragged me over by their tent. Their rabbits were pretty cool. That little grey one came up and jumped all over me.
Thanks for the ammo and the food and the beer Rusty. I never thanked you in MO but you were really cool.

At 8 years old, I shot my dad's (which was his dad's) 870 Wingmaster. It was given to me and I will give it to my son when he's old enough.

I was got a Marlin 795 .22 for Christams when I was 10.

I bought a Mosin Nagant at 20 for $90.

My dad got me into guns. Unfortunately he's no longer into guns like I am, and he can't own them anymore anyways because he's a felon now.
