Bernie was actually the most popular candidate in the election. Idk if this is still the case but for a long time he polled higher than every other candidate among the general public. The only reason why he isn't winning the primary is that dindus think Hillary is the best thing ever, and the Dems are doing everything in their power to stop him.

This makes zero fucking sense. The Sanders "endgame" is very clearly not oriented towards a stronger 2nd Amendment, nor is it in any way shape or form going to increase wealth. He has openly stated that he wants to "ban semi-automatic assault weapons which are designed strictly for killing human beings" among other atrociously retarded shit. His intention is to siphon funds directly from the people to the government on a massively larger scale than is happening currently. Would this decrease income inequality? Probably. Will it make people in the US richer? No. Fuck no. This strategy has never made a general populace more wealthy ever, ever. Capitalist economies very typically have unequal income, but in absolute terms they gain one hell of a lot more wealth than socialist economies. There is a fucking reason that the US has one of the the strongest economies in the world in terms of purchasing power parity. It isn't because of social programs or the redistribution of capital.

It's funny, people can see that fucking idiots who have no fucking idea what an assault weapon is talk out of their ass and make stupid fucking legislation. When it comes to having zero clue about economics, their all in.

Bullshit, investing nowadays has nothing to do with making companies better, or floating them until they reach solvency. It's a way for the rich to extracty money and get richer, and automated trading algorithms are a symptom of that.

The problem is that those aren't the people he needs to convince to vote for him in the general election.

So you just basically said "no u"and claim that large businesses are a just a way for the rich to "extract" money...presumably from poor people? Well, if that's the argument, you are completely incorrect. I mean, there are volumes of information that prove the contrary. Even Liberal educational institutions like CU Boulder demonstrate that large corporate institutions are undeniably beneficial to economies and have a positive correlation with quality of life. Even semi-socialized countries in places like Scandinavia are market oriented and they have policies in place to attract MNCs.

Then you mention tax havens. The wikipedia link you posted even has a figure. At the high end, the amount of total tax revenue that could be salvaged from these (uncommon) fund sources is 280 billion USD. That's ALL of the taxable income in tax havens, from EVERY country in the world, from ALL time. It's a fucking drop in a bucket relative to annual GDPs. That's not to mention the fact that tax expenditure isn't inherently beneficial to economies, people, or even governments themselves. Low taxes and large business are positively correlated with high income and good infrastructure. It's just the way it is.

He cited flawed facts based on dysfunctional bases. Supply-side economics are a fundamentally broken system that has resulted in wage stagnation even as productivity consistently has increased. Nobody but a few elites at the top are making more than they were 30 years ago in the same positions, in many cases quite a bit less. A healthy economy is driven by consumers, not by investors. And the pre-Reagan high marginal tax rates enforced a far more balanced system, where there were still wealthy people, but also a larger, well-paid work force that could actually afford to buy the products and services they were making available.

>Supply-side economics are a fundamentally broken system that has resulted in wage stagnation even as productivity consistently has increased.
So this is false. Wage stagnation in recent years can obviously be attributed to the economic recession. Slight downward trends are extremely normal in those circumstances. That being said, an upward trend in average incomes (adjusted for inflation) has been relatively constant after World War Two.
>A healthy economy is driven by consumers, not by investors.
Incidentally this is also false. Firstly, because it implies that consumers themselves are the key to things like innovation and research and denies the influence that the suppliers have on demand (branding, advertising, providing information, etc.). Secondly, it is incorrect to imply that consumption has taken a downward turn since the Reagan era. Aggregate demand, also, has seen major increases per person, per year. Not to mention the fact that there are more consumers in the US than ever before. In short, both investors and consumers are absolutely crucial to a functioning, healthy economy.
>pre-Reagan high marginal tax rates enforced a far more balanced system, where there were still wealthy people, but also a larger, well-paid work force
Yeah, no. There was a smaller work force in the pre-Reagan era. While it is true that a disproportionate rise in income for the upper class has occurred, it is not the case that the middle or even lower classes can afford less. Advanced and intricate durable goods are less expensive than they ever were to the degree that most people have a computer in their pocket. It's pretty much intuitively stupid to insinuate that people can afford to buy less shit now when homeless people have the latest and greatest REI textiles and cell phones.

Just say you don't like it when people have more money than you. I'll accept that.

There's that word again. What exactly are you saying? Are you implying that funds that are automatically managed don't have collectives of people behind them? There's a reason it's called trade. People aren't "extracting" money from the economy unless they pull out their funds, turn it into precious metals, then throw it into a volcano. Even is super rich corporate fat cats want to buy a landing pad and helicopter with their money, they are just giving that capital to someone else. This is trade, not extraction.

You want to know who actually extracts money out of the US economy the most? It's the poor. Remittances from Indian, Mexican, and Chinese workers accounts for a shitload of capital flight.

Except for it being a 30-year trend of stagnation once adjusted for inflation, not directly attributable to the recession.

>Incidentally this is also false. Firstly, because it implies that consumers themselves are the key to things like innovation and research and denies the influence that the suppliers have on demand (branding, advertising, providing information, etc.). Without anybody to pay money, businesses can't exist. Without workers, products aren't made. Investors are the least important element, otherwise no non-traded company could exist for long.

>Yeah, no. There was a smaller work force in the pre-Reagan era. >Just say you don't like it when people have more money than you. I'll accept that.
Except it's not. It's great that people can get rich and do awesome stuff. The problem is that it's gone to the point where they're doing it at everyone else's expense and creating an economy that will eventually collapse from under them.

>>29857405
>There's that word again. What exactly are you saying? Are you implying that funds that are automatically managed don't have collectives of people behind them? There's a reason it's called trade. People aren't "extracting" money from the economy unless they pull out their funds, turn it into precious metals, then throw it into a volcano. Even is super rich corporate fat cats want to buy a landing pad and helicopter with their money, they are just giving that capital to someone else. This is trade, not extraction.
It is exactly extraction. High speed algorithms do not perform the one core task that defines investing: investing to boost a company's coffers and promote future growth. They manipulate stock prices to play off differences of fractions of a cent using insanely large amounts of money. And there often is nobody actively steering them, which has caused them to create crashes several times. And that money going and sitting in Bermuda or going to Ferrarri or Tag Heuer isn't doing anything for the general economy.

>You want to know who actually extracts money out of the US economy the most? It's the poor. Remittances from Indian, Mexican, and Chinese workers accounts for a shitload of capital flight.
Yep, just blame the poor.
