Vz58s are great rifles, smaller than an AK. Also it has a better safety and a bolt catch than an AK. In my opinion the trigger is better on the Vz
On the down side there isn't that much after market.

Get a real vz, or forever wish you knew how nice it really is.
Not that vz2008s are "bad" but they leave a lot to be desired vs a real one. The fit and finish is pretty meh.

The VZ2008 is built from parts kits so that's likely why.
Ok. So the 58 is the consensus.
I know the days if reasonably-priced VZ 58s is over, but what kind price am I looking at?

on related news, I recently made a thread asking what pic related had as rail, i think it's a Vz58 Pi Rail that was cut
Anyone have experience with czechpoint? Thinking of getting this as new rifle, it would be first semi auto weapon I purchase.

Just keep in mind that the "liberty" model only takes 10rd mags.
I have the same rifle czechpoint sells, and it's my favorite rifle and has been for many years even as my collection grew. I consider it the best gun in my collection.

Thanks, yeah I know, I live in long island and this makes it legal. Also they lock the mag in place, so it can only be fed from top.

I use stripper clips and 10rd mags primarily in my gun.
I just wouldn't want to be "forced" into it.
I'd also buy a vz58 mag pouch frmo czechpoint like this too, they're really perfect for 10rd mags, or 3 strippers per cell.
