I wanted to be a Navy SEAL when I was a teenager. I watched the BUD/S 234 special and could never understand why anyone would quit or slow down. I decided to run around my block a few times to prepare for my naval enlistment. I run up the street and was out of breath. I took a small break and kept running. I did one lap around my block and went home. My shins were aching for 4 days and it felt like I was breathing blood. I realized that day why the "never quit" attitude doesn't work. You can tell yourself to never quit all you want, but it doesn't really work if you're a couch potato.
