Bummer. Does anyone make a 20" barrel for the AUG with a 1-in-8 or tighter twist?
>>

That's patiently false. The next time I take my AUG to the range I'll do a few shots, I only shoot commercial stuff and I always hover around 2'' with good commercial stuff, I don't have any match stuff right now but I get some before then I'll try it.

>>
>>29825567
Match does worse because it's too heavy for the twist.
>>
>>29825584

Way to kill my hopes, anon. Guess I'll stick with a boring old AR for now. Not much point in spending $2400 on a rifle that won't shoot any straighter than what I have.
>>
>>29825603
Match ammo isnt exclusively heavy grain weights
>>
>>29825603
Ah, I generally don't shoot match or for extremely tight groups unless I'm zeroing or testing a scope.
>>
>>29825607
You're paying too much if you're spending $2,400. The version with the optic can be had for ~$2,100 and if you don't want the optic you can shave off another $300. The best place to buy them is from Pete Athens' store, call him and he'll get you set up with whatever barrel length you want.
>>
>>29825607
Yep, AR is better in almost every way. Granted the AUG is pretty much a 80s gun with zero improvements aside from the bho, bolt release, and rail.

that was a noveske 14.5" chrome lined barrel using pic related on a concrete table.
>>
>>29825629

I was factoring in the cost of the 20" barrel as well, so 1800+450 is still $2250. I have way more access to inexpensive quality loads in .223 than I do 5.56x45 here, so a need all the zip I can get.

I don't understand why people treat these guns like they are match grade guns made for bench shooting at paper.

It still hits chest sized targets, as long as it can keep doing that in a compact, reliable package what is the issue?

>>

>hurr if I pay x it must be y tight of a shooter

This is silly, I can go pay 10 grand for an mp5 and it's not going to get 1moa at 100yards

The gun was designed to be a short, well balanced carbine that could hit chest sized targets in urban and semi urban environments.

It does it's job

>hurr but for that much money I could build an AR that shoots y sized groups!

Then do so.

The Tavor is not an AR15, it was built for a specific role and accomplishes it's role, nobody ever claimed it was being built to shoot against gucci safe queen AR15s.

I am not paying $1500 to shoot penny sized groups instead of silver dollar sized groups, I am paying $1500 to shoot silver dollar sized groups at chest sized targets with a carbine I can carry all day and handle in compact environments.
>>
>>29826096
i agree with you- its a battle rifle and it does battle rifle sized groups.

Because it's a $2000 gun, and its competition both cheaper and more expensive, shoot better than that. An standard issue m4 with m855 shoots better than this thing with match grade

If I want to take 5.56 out to its basic effective lethal limits around 600-700m, I can't do that with this gun. And at $2000, I find that unacceptable
>>
>>29826486
To be fair, I would be too if I had to listen to people calling me a shill all fucking day. He's still one of the best guntubers out there, imo. Hickock is great as well, but he just shoots guns, he doesnt really go into depth about reviews or anything.
>>
>>29826205
But it doesn't take a safe Queen AR to even shot 2 MOA. My milspec bcm barreled kiss rifle shoots 2 MOA with m193, not match grade ammo.

Accuracy, at any distance will help a rifle. This is a service rifle and given recent conflicts 400-600m shooting is necessary, and this rifle can't deliver on that.
>>
>>29826875

So don't adopt it for shooting at sand niggers in the middle of bumfuck nowhere

>>
>>29826855
No it won't. M855 is very sketchy accuracy wise from lot to lot and it isn't very accurate to begin with due to the penetrator being difficult to consistently place.

I love M855 and have thousands of it for use in my ACOG but, it's consistently 3-3.5MOA with anything else being a fluke.

Even godtier IWI M855 isn't overly accurate.

just want to point out that norwegian army shot 1.83 moa groups with 16.5 inch 416 that had run 5-10k rounds through them.

HK416N (16.5")
M855: 11 cm or 1.83 MOA
NM229: 12 cm or 2 MOA
NY NAMMO 1: 11.7 cm or 1.95 MOA
Lead Free Boat Tail: 10.9 cm or 1.81 MOA
SS109 SELF: 10.7 cm or 1.78 MOA
SS109: 8.48 cm or 1.41 MOA

HK416K (10.5")
M855: 16 cm or 2.66 MOA
NM229: 33 cm or 5.5 MOA
NY NAMMO 1: 21.2 cm or 3.53 MOA
Lead Free Boat Tail: Not tested
SS109 SELF: 14.2 cm or 2.36 MOA
SS109: 15.7 cm or 2.61 MOA
>>
Is the rifle worth the price tag still with these new precision problems?

Not to me, I want a tack driver for $2,000 USD personally.
>>
>>29826883

Does the Israeli army have that +400m requirement, especially out of a bullpup with a 16" barrel? Assuming it's a 3moa rifle with 55gr FMJ, they can still hit a 9" circle at 273m, which seems fine for a carbine. (Not as good as an M4, but the M4 has a larger OAL).

Correct me if I'm wrong, but jarheads only need a 2.5moa gun to qualify on a 12" target at 500yards, and that's with a full length rifle barrel. It seems like the consumer market has much more stringent accuracy demands when purchasing a rifle than the government does.

Probably cause he realized 90% of his viewers are nogunz, airshit, COD warriors who watch because it gives them something to argue about other than "You're out! "Nuh-uh" "yeah huh!" "I'm calling my mom!".

Another 8 percent are fudds with nothing to do but watch every damn video channel on YouTube and bitch about the lack of wood on combat oriented guns these days.

1.5 percent are littered looking for guns to trigger their....whatever mess they keep up in their hypocrite pea brains, so they can masturbate with their own tears and blog about how they saw a gun today and feel oppressed in their suburban condo with private security, gate, and food/weed/liquor door to door delivery service.

The remaining 0.5 percent are people with an actual interest in firearms who want to be informed but turn him off after a minute or two or skip to the shooting results cause they get annoyed by his gushing, partial knowledge, or the fact that he's only a marginal shot. Then they nitpick the stuff he got wrong.

All in all....I think he had a moment of self awareness somewhere along the way and realized that he has become what he never wanted to be: an irrelevant, blustering, shill for whatever company willing to send him gear, with a declining YouTube channel that doesn't pay the bills and has literally nothing to do with the military in any way. I heard one suggestion long ago that if he singly switched to shooting from basic military style training positions (standing, kneel, prone) instead of from a table or bipod and shot at targets that looked like the ones from base ranges, people would take him more seriously.

He just looks like a guy who wants to cry out, "Please like me, I am not a failure!"
