I'm a field ecologist and do a lot of work in urban forests in pretty sketchy areas at night. A mate of mine is a machinist and I got him to make me up a solid steel 'self defence' clipboard. Weighed a lot and got a bit tedious to carry around but it was always reassuring to have. Never had to use it but came close a few times, always had a leatherman and a 1000 lumen torch as well.
Here in QLD you can also carry a swiss army knife for 'general utility purposes' as well. The law actually mentions swiss army knife by name, so I'd assume any Victorinox or Wenger model (including those with a locking, single handed opening blade) would be legally fine to carry. Not a lawyer though, so I dunno. There are also self defence umbrellas out there, good for a laugh and I don't know how effective they'd be.

The 7615 design is shithouse. Take it apart and you will realise that in comparison to other firearms how crap it is.
The most significant flaw in the design is the round stripper under the bolt. If it james forward which they are prone to do then when inserting a new magazine it can snap off. And getting a replacement is a bitch.
But you can see how much of a hackjob the whole rifle is from the crappy bolt lug design to the ridicolous magwell piece.
Also of course the forend is wobbly and there isnt much that can be done about it. If you want to fit it with a collapsible AR type stock then you need an adapter which adds weight + expense. (And I do want as small a package as possible because handling rifles in a vehicle is a pain in the ass and them being longer only makes it worse.
