What would be a situation, time or place in which an HK 45C or 45CT would be the ideal carry weapon?

The gun seems to have a cult-like following, but I can't help but notice that it only has a capacity of 8+1, and is as big as a Glock 19. Yet, this thing, along with an equally perplexing choice, the Sig P239, is used by Seal Team Six.

Why not both, senpai?

I carry an hk45c and a p239 depending.

Hk45c LEM is god tier for fast target shooting plus you can carry with the extendo...I do. 11 o'clock cross draw appendix. The mag just sits in like with the waist and its invisible.

P239 is just high class. St6 carries the 239 as a back up gun with the hk45c though I think, not either or.

Picking between the two is just a win-win

Is the seal 239 a 9mm?
>>
>>29819413
It is a pretty compact, suppressor ready pistol that is reliable, unlike commander sized 1911s. There are 10 round magazines that are as reliable as the 8 rounders, also unlike the 1911
Capacity is not that big of an issue for SEALs since it is a secondary weapon.
.45 tends to suppress better than 9mm

>St6 carries the 239 as a back up gun with the hk45c though I think, not either or.
Fucking what?

>carrying 2x handguns with an 8-round capacity
>not just carrying a fucking Glock 17 and having the exact same number of rounds on tap, in one gun.
>>
>>29819489
Most likely, they do use 9mm mk25's, absolutely no reason they would go with a .40 or .357 sig one.

Goddamn, I was so close to buying a p239 for my cc gun but I couldn't justify the size. The Gen 2 SAS is a fucking amazing shooter.

What does that mean exactly? All my research into pistol cans shows that subsonic 147gr 9mm is quieter than 230gr .45. The one benefit of .45 is that 230gr subsonics are easier to find than 147gr, but that's about it.
>>
>>29819491
Protip "commander sized" is a 4.25" barrel

Officer sized 3" are shit reliability literally nothing wrong with 4.25

>>29819470
>>29819489
I'm not an expert but I'm pretty sure seals carry both the P228/M11 and P239 for conceal carry.

I doubt they would be carrying two pistols at a time.

>The one benefit of .45 is that 230gr subsonics are easier to find than 147gr, but that's about it.
I guess that would make it "better" or easier.
>>
>>29819514
>What does that mean exactly?

Not him but I used to think the same, apparently the lower velocity of .45 makes it quieter. But from silencerco's tests, 9mm is actually quieter of the two.
>>
>>29819530
Just because the round is slightly harder to find doesn't mean that it isn't quieter. Sub sonic 9mm suppresses better than .45.
>>
>>29819501
It's not that big. It's heavy but that's the appeal. It's a niche gun for the niche I like.
>>
>>29819529
I imagine we are both referencing the 'Neptune Spear' kit which had an hk45ct and a p239.
>>
>>29819548
But if it suppresses my bank account too much, then that wouldn't be better at all.
>>
>>29819514
That is literally it

Retards don't into any more understanding of the subject than "ya bro .45 supresses better bro" as if 147gr 9mm loads that are omg no way subsonic!!!one11 don't fucking exist, and if somehow .45 ACP has some sort of intangible qualities beyond what physics dictate.

Muh nabee seeeels use Glock 19s nowadays. Welcome to 2016 dumb faggot
>>
>>29819553
Go for it if you really like and how it shoots. 9 rounds is enough to defend yourself from at least two people and you can always carry a spare 10 round mag.

I had the same thoughts with the P239 which I didn't buy for the same reasons. Watch this video even if it's for the 1911 but it still applies.

Oh, it's this retard. Got any official and reliable sources indicating they're phasing out the 226 for 19's? Didn't think so.

Plus, you're a fucking retard if you honestly believe seals or any other sof group for that matter haven't been using glocks already.

Would you believe me if I told you they have been using them for years and you're slow in two ways?

The mk24 is apparently used by specwar guys as a suppressed handgun or some wierd shit like that. I bought one to carry because it's nice af despite there probably being more economical/practical .45's out there. For the 2 weeks when in cold enough it makes a great winter carry piece in FL

resurrecting a dead thread
>next fun purchase will either be USP45 or a surplus hi power
>LGS has a USP45C for $600
>would otherwise get full size online for $800
>hi powers are constantly drying up
>buy surplus online for $440
what do. I initially decided wait and get a hi power since I don't know how much longer they'll be around, but that USP is convenient and decently priced. I'm in a bind

Dedicated suppressed handgun, for recce guys in a hide site. The P239 is a concealed pistol for covert shit.

The fuck...? Go make your own thread, idiot. Threads on 4chan aren't dead until they get auto-pruned.

thanks for the response, how's the recoil? I wanted a full size so that I wouldn't get fucked with recoil, but if it's not too snappy as a compact, I can dig it.
