Just picked this Mosin up for $400 down under it's in good condition all numbers matching. Can you guys tell me what these marking mean, I have literally no clue when it comes to mosin stamps/marks.

Funnt thing with the firearms registry here in Australia is thar I've had to call then to find out what they have on record at the official serial or if they have a serial at all.
One of my rifles has rhe serial of 118, the other has NIL

I'm not OP but am an ausfag as well. Generally roo hunting is done at night with a spotlight within a couple of hundred metres going for head shots. I have been in the back of a ute with a mate using an m44 while I was pointing the spotlight. the blinding muzzle flash + less than stellar accuracy + iron sights on a small target don't really make for a good roo gun. Generally a decent scoped .223 with expanding projectiles is the go to rifle for most roo shooters.
