Alright, to all my /k/omrades who've played the metro games,
how do you think the Bastard Gun holds up to the STEN?
yeah
Nah
5.45 is gonna hit a bit harder than 9mm though less so than it could due to the short barrel and crappy propellant of the non-military ammo. The strange magazine of the bastard gun is probably less reliable than the STEN's which isn't even that awesome to begin with. Recoil and muzzle climb of the bastard gun is gonna be pretty awful, STEN is probably more controllable, though since both are open-bolt neither is exactly a sniper rifle.
Ultimately if you're using either one it's because that's all you've got but if I had the choice I'd probably go with the STEN.

Bastard is at least more comfortable to hold.
Like where do you hold the sten? The heat shield? You burn. Behind the mag you get hit by the bolt. The magazine it jams.
>>29818736
Magazine maybe?
>>29818736
You'd have to do a hell of a lot of shooting to get the heat shield that hot there's a lot of steel there. The MK.3 has more real estate for a grip But you can grip the dust cover ahead of the trigger guard or by the magwell on the MK.2, don't grip the mag though as that can cause it to jam.

Bastard seems waaaay more complicated mechanically, and would prolly be more unreliable.
Idfk, sten is unreliable too. Clusterfuck either way.
>>29819262
>jams
>>29819316
From what I've heard, which could be wrong 2-3 mags makes holding in front of the mag well extremely painful.
Besides it's an smg, it's going to be spitting a lot of lead.
>>29818736
Like this dude
>>29817751
Wouldn't the bastard gun need a curved mag because of the x39 case?
>>29817751
I know Metro is set in rissia, but I always figgured sheet metal guns like an M3 Grease Gun would be the ultimate easy to make, yet reliable post apoc submachine gun in pistol calibers.
For A rifle I suppose it would be easy to make lever or pump actions or even rolling block rifles for making super safe over built but sime single shit big bote rifles with high preasures.
>>29821936
the mag reciprocates in order to line up each round with the chamber
>>29821973
Has that ever been done before?
>>29821995
only horizontally irl but the bastards mag moves vertically too
>>29821936
>>29821908
it would seems pretty awkward to have the cog infront of both of your arms.
>>29822063
Do you mean the magazine? If so lots of early submachine guns had it far forward
>>29817850
>magazine
The bastard uses a clip
>>29822259
Actually I think it's a ammo strip like that one Hotchkiss machine gun.
