i really want an ar15 A4 style rifle. but it would be my 3rd ar15
should i build one? is a full length really that fun/much better than my 16"s?
>>29807509
Just get new interchangeable parts
>>29807509
>is a full length really that fun
If you find smoother recoil and faster muzzle velocity fun. There really isn't much difference
>>29807509
It's longer, heavier, and not any more or less useful.
I built one, and sold it within a week.
Consider an 18" SPR if you want something accurate and fun.

but they look so nice
might hold off on one then. I really do like them, maybe i can get some other fun stuff checked of my list before i get one though

Del-Ton makes a 20'' complete kit for $500.
My first AR was a 20'' and its a fun plinker on the range. I would really only recommend it if you plan on doing NRA style matches as it fits perfectly into their rules for AR-15s.

A4 perks:
1. Correct barrel length for the original Stoner gas system specifications. Lower gas system pressure, less fouling, smoother action.
2. Long barrel benefits: muzzle flash reduced and further away from your face, longer radius for iron sights, and the inertia of the longer barrel makes it easier to stay on target without a rest.
3. YOU CAN MOUNT A BAYONET!
I built an A2 and it actually feels lighter than my tacticool 16" with free float rail system. Fun gun to shoot, plus its unique at the range

pencil barrel or true a2 profile?
where did you get an a2 upper?
>>29808785
1 and 3 also apply to midlength 16" guns. It keeps the correct gas port to muzzle length and as such can mount a bayonet properly.
I want one so bad for pig hunting and to pair with my ERDL shit, but I don't know how to build a decent functional one on a poorfag student budget. All I have as far as rifles go is a DPMS oracle that sits in a safe at my family's ranch.

>but they look so nice
Get one then. A full on A2 20" is baller as fuck. Dress in chocolate chip cammies at the range and blast this

why not just get a 20" upper and stock so you can dress up one of your 2 ARs for fun
I love mine, and thanks to some patience waiting for sales, I was able to toss mine together for about $700 total. And that includes some upgraded trigger springs and one of those nickel boron coated BCGs, for what they're worth.

What's the difference between A2 and A4?
I heard A3 was just a full auto A4
Is it just the flattop upper and different pistol grip?
I bought a Colt a4 and I've noticed I enjoy it more than my m4gery. I guess I grew up watching too many movies from the 80s because a full length a2/a4 just looks right to me.

A3 is an A2 with a full auto FCG.
A4 is an an A2 with a flat top receiver and f marked front sight base. Usually includes the KAC M5 RAS.
>>29809454
look at the upper receiver, see how the rail is on an A4 and an A2 has the carry handle built into the frame?
>>29809373
thinking about doing this. why buy another ar when you can just get an upper. other bonus is no transfer fees, and shipped to your door.
>>29809584
He literally said he understood that A4 was flattop
>>29808947
True A2. I bought a stripped upper from ar15sport; kinda wish I'd have built an M16A4 because it would have cost me a lot less. a2 upper was $100 and the rear sight assembly was another $60
Barrel is made by Windham.
