also, in terms of "South of LA" where are you? San Diego? Cause I mean honestly, we've tried to have SoCal meet ups before with my fellow Angelenos and those always went to shit.

Most of them who did go to meets went to the all state California meet or the San Diego shoots. Or nuggetfests.

It would be nice to have one nearby at like Hodge road or something. Or just meet at one of the larger normie shoots like the Zombie one at BLM etc.

Nuggetfests are fucking huge and run by certain people. Come on Phil you should know this. Btw are you going to the Jef/NorCuck one at the end of June?
>>
Garbage Grove reporting in.
>>
>>29808157
The nuggetfest was outta state (some even went to the PA one I heard)

And there is no difference between the-all state California meetup which is predominantly North California because they are closer somewhat. But some socal people went.

And there used to be a group that met in San Diego. Dunno what happened to them, and the Socal shoot like a year and a half ago got cancelled at the last moment which sucked until the recent all state California shoots.
>>
Threadly reminder that only an absolute retard would go to a meet with nu-/k/.

It's news to *me.* So... we have a tacit agreement that 'Nuggetfest' is patented? To whom to I apply to call a meeting of /k/ommandoes a Nuggetfest then? if only to keep everybody else from thinking I'm a pretentious asshole?

That's the plan. I'll be bringing more than guns.

Anyhow, the scouting meet happened and we'll have a recap thread with pretty pictures and the general plan tomorrow.

OC reporting in. Used to live in the Inland Empire and would go shooting out by Hodges road.

Used to go off of Stoddard Wells road because it was closer and easier to get to, but some douchebags called the cops on us. Had a chopper and 4 squad cars come in on us, almost shoot us, and shove us into the back of their cars. That was fun. As it turned out, it was a false police report saying that we were shooting at cars on the highway or something insane. And that was when the cops told us Stoddard Wells was for shotgun only and that we should go shoot at Hodges road.

Anyone else have similar experiences while shooting in Cuckifornia?

Hmmmmmmmm
Beer is OK, homebrew can be a shit if you don't know what you're doing.
I work at Bevmo, everybody does homebrew and it all overwhelmingly sucks.
Even brewries in SD, overwhelmingly bad.
Only one bevmobro makes it well, and lots of the beer in SD is sensationalist and the sales don't last long
>>
>>29808564
You have to practice and refine your technique if you ever want to get good at it. I like brewing a brown hazelnut ale because it's hard to find good brown ales at the store. Sometimes Rogue Hazelnut is at the store and it's pretty great, but I learned to make my own that I think it even better.

Need some advice from fellow commiefornians. I've been thinking of getting a VZ-58 to get around the whole maglock thing since you can load it with stripper clips. Is this a sound decision or would there be some arbitrary law that I have overlooked that would ruin this decision
>>
>>29809167
It's a dangerous loophole that will be plugged as soon as they find about it -- even if they have to categorically ban all semi-autos (which is an idea that is widespread amongst the wealthy gun-illiterate here) and let the resultant lawsuits drag on for years upon end while they smother us with more laws every year like clockwork.

California is sinking -- and not merely with regards to the 2nd Amndment. Do not stay and fight. Go somewhere else and skulk around there.

>what separates NuggetFest from other /k/ meetups

It's hard to answer that question without sounding like a pretentious attention whore myself I've coordinated/hosted all 8 NuggetFests. (With exception to the first in which LIShoot did the coordination and I took over as host.)

NuggetFest isn't better than other meetups, it's just different. Most meetups are confined to a State or small area. Georgia Meetup, SoCal Meetup, Minnesota Meetup, etc.

NuggetFest draws crowds from all over. It's incredibly common to have /k/ommandos from 3 different time zones in attendance. I can't quite put into words what makes people go so far out of their way but I've been doing NuggetFest for 3 years and I see a lot of return attendees.

Like anon here said >>29808265
We have had California /k/ommandos carpool all the way from Northern California to Pennylvania for Summer NuggetFest. We've had people drive from the southern tip of Texas to Midwest NuggetFest in Missouri. What makes NuggetFest different are the people that show up. They'll drive 12 straight hours and still help others carry gear and guns the moment they show up. Sure we get a few slackers now and then but the vast majority of NuggetFest goers will help a stranger at the drop of ahat. I've seen it more times than I can count. I'm not implying that people at other meetups are less sincere or helpful. It's just that NuggetFest is more of a nation wide event, not limited to individual states or counties. Hell Winter NuggetFest 2015 had over 80 attendees and was technically the first International NuggetFest, thanks to Canadabro driving down from the land of Syrup.
>>
>>29808326
>>29808157
I get a lot of flak from people disagreeing with my request to not simply call any /k/ meetup a NuggetFest. They think I'm being selfish or want to be the center of attention but that's not true. A lot of time and energy has gone into NuggetFest over the years and /k/ommandos have grown accustomed to NuggetFest being a huge nation wide event. Recently another guy wanted to host an event in Tennessee and he called it Summer NuggetFest. A lot of people were confused and annoyed when they realized he had no affiliation to the previous NuggetFests. So he changed the Name to "Summer /k/amp" then he ended up canceling it. His heart was in the right place but it caused a lot of confusion regarding dates and locations for the actual Summer NuggetFest I'm hosting in Virginia in June. I'm not trying to stand out and get attention. It's the people that go to NuggetFest and the volunteers that help me that deserve the credit as NuggetFest is nothing without them.

My point is, NuggetFest has built up a reputation that people attending have grown to expect. Others using the same name has already added unnecessary confusion. I don't own the name NuggetFest. I just host them and have the nuggetfest.com website. I only ask that others refrain from using the name of an already established and well known event.

818 reporting in.

I am kind of interested in meeting up with people from /k/, but I am trans so I am somewhat apprehensive. I was going to go a meet up last time in the central valley, but my old car's engine blew.

The San Fernando valley. With my current car I can pretty much go where ever.

Still, I am very libertarian and I haven't had a problem with other libertarians about my trans stuff. Liberals seem to hate me to most though. Maybe it is because I don't drink the sjw coolaid lol.

Still, I wouldn't mind meeting up with people if they were accepting tolerant.
