If I was shooting at a armored suit, i'd hit the same points as I would against a heavily armored human with a plate carrier. Such as the groin, thigh, collar bone area, joints etc etc.

.50 has been able to easily defeat powered armor in every case of it showing up in the same game (Tactics, New Vegas and Wasteland 2). As for IRL, id say definitely since the amount of armor an exoskeleton could carry while still being able to remain mobile would be Stryker-tier at best, and they can only handle rifle fire.
