There is literally a line in Twin Snakes where Huey, I think, says; "T-this is just like my Japanese animes." Kojima back then thought not to be to serious, as MGSV was way to out of the norm. Overall,
the game was extremely revolutionary in most respects when it was first released, and entertaining throughout all of it.

Nah, I liked it.
Writing is all over the place, suffers from pretentiousness and inconsistencies in the later games, and you'll occasionally set the controller down and go prepare dinner for your family while a cutscene rambles on and on about the super-Illuminati or whatever. But the characters are likable and endearing, the harder difficulties are engaging, the worldbuilding is captivating if somewhat baffling, and there's a sort of 'Cheap Action Movie' charm about the whole thing that really pulls you in.
You can always just pick one and play them out of order if you like. There IS a continuity but it doesn't really matter because the story doesn't make any sense anyway and anything you need to know from the previous games will be barked at you incessantly anyway.
1 is the classic meme one,
2 is the weird acid-trip one,
3 is the objectively good one,
4 is the super high budget movie directed by explosions and emotionally traumatized women thrusting their butts at you.
And I've heard 5 is great from people who's opinions I respect, but I haven't played it myself so I don't know.

It is pretty damn good in terms of gameplay, but the plot is not the saga ender that it was sold as. Once you finish the game, you will mostly play more difficult versions of the singleplayer missions, and multiplayer.
Multiplayer is pretty good, by the way, but it suffers from a bit of lag. Also, you have to grow a thicker skin because half the game is about humiliating your enemies. Plushies immobilizing them, getting fulton-extracted and stuff like that.
There is also the FOB mode, which is all about saltiness. Basically, you defend your Mother Base from people trying to kidnap your people or steal your resources, and you do likewise (also you can retaliate against people that fuck with you).
6.5/10
You can live without it, but there are some cool moments, the music is good, and the gameplay is entertaining, so it would be a shame if you never played it. Wait for sale?

I built one and spent the money on the Beta mag brand C Mag. Even took the mag to Iraq.
Pro-tip: SPEND THE MONEY dont get a knock off! Yeah there are cheaper 90-100 round mags, they are notorious for breaking and failing. I have used my Beta mag in combat, it never failed me. The only draw back is there is no bolt hold open on the last round.

Well that was kinda the plan (run the double agent to steal the Philosophers Legacy, then GTFO) until an American nuke went off inside Soviet borders. A nuke last seen with the Boss. The official story was that she was defecting, and if she returned to the US then it would be pretty obvious the whole thing was a plot to nuke Russian clay.
In Peace Walker it's kinda spelt out that she was put in such a dangerous situation because the powers that be were afraid of her cult of personality and wanted her gone, preferably in a way that no one would make a martyr out of her. Of course, Snake finds out the truth, and it motivates him to use his cult of personality to do the very thing the CIA were afraid the Boss would do.
