It's basically a Swiss carabine changed into a sniper rifle. I'm totally new to long distance shooting but I assume it's fun.

I made my call of duty reply thinking you were shitposting.
You should take your new rifle out into ththe desert or woods and shoot from 500 yards, and see how difficult it actually is. It's fun, but it's difficult.
Make sure to use steel gongs, the POP-DING time difference gives me a boner every time.

What I meant was you can't really call it a sniper rifle unless you are actually a trained sniper. Precision or long range shooter is a better term and more accepted by /k/.
Anyway, let's not destroy this thread so here, have a picture of my two longer range guns.

Just work your way out, start at 100 yards and work your way up. I started with a Rossi break barrel .223 scope combo on a shotgun clay in vice grips, there's no limit to the fun in long range shooting.

This guy is 100% correct. Being a sniper entails a heck of a lot more than shooting.

Accuracy international AX308. Lot's of people will say .308 is waste on the rifle but the furthest I can shoot near me is 1200 yards. It costs less and the barrel doesn't wear out as fast. There are also lots of different options for hand loads.
