I am looking for a .308 battle rifle and am looking closely at getting an FAL variant. From what I have read it looks like my options are to but a DSA rifle or a parts kit gun. Are the Voyagers really pot metal shit or is that just a meme? So should I buy a normal milled DSA rifle or should I buy a parts kit and get someone to build the rifle for me? Please help me do the best I can with my well earned shekels /k/

OP here. From what I have read so far, Isreali kits are super expensive and rare so that is off the table. I am having a little trouble finding allot of parts kits for same in general, anywhere I should be looking besides Gunbroker? Plus it would be cool if any of you guys could post pics of your builds so I can know what to expect.

The rifle that I tried using was a DSA I think, fit and finish seems to be adequate for a FAL.
I don't know much about building them, although as far as I know don't mix the metric and the imperial parts together.

Headspacing and timing are both fairly simple. Provided you actually use gauges.

One other option is to search the internet and local gun shops for a cai fal with an imbel reciever.
So of those can go for pretty cheap just because of the cai mark.
From there you can either have a gunsmith go over it. Or do if youself.
Outside of fn imbel is the best receiver out there.
Then the forged DSAs and Coonans.
Also, the whole pot metal thing is a meme. Ive got an fal with a cast receiver. Its got over three thousand rnds thru it with no issues.
Worry more about headspace and how the rifle was assembled.
Thats the real issue with all the do it yourself FALs out there.
