Alright /k/ cut the shit, we need to talk about 3 handguns
>Jericho 941
>Berreta 92
>S&W 5906
You know what's terrible? Slide mounted safeties. Those are just terrible and bad. All 3 of these series of pistols have those as standard, and the saftey is the Decocker. However, while we shit all over the berreta for it, the Jericho receives tons of praise. Often called the best cz clone or cz variant. The sw5906 rarely gets called out for it, and it gets loads of praise for being an excellent all metal budget handgun that shoots great.

people repeat memes what can you do
>>29795004
Don't get me wrong, I hate slide mounted stuff. Safties and decocker because it's very easy to accidentally engage. But it's so much worse on the Jericho because the slide is inside the frame, making the gripping area much smaller, AND the serrations are right on the control lever. Front serrations would go a long way to fixing all of these guns

It's not that bad, slightly awkward when you're used to shooting 1911s or Hi Powers, but its fun.
>>29794986
its cause the 92 has a really small grabable slide area combined with the slide safety.
if you hold the front part you could burn yourself with the barrel if the guns hot
then activating the safety automatically decocks the gun when the others dont
the safety location on its own is manageble but the features on the 92 add up to make it exceptionally annoying
Don't mind me, just being the best DA/SA
The 5906 is a heavy-ass clunky piece of shit. I feel like I'm holding a sextant with all of it's hard angles and switches. Not shocked it wa discontinued.

>safeties
lol
>>29794986
Why are slide safeties bad?
>>29795155
for carry guns? fuck em
for combat handguns? NEED
>>29795193
Because you can inadvertently flip the safety on or off when racking the slide.
>>29795136
I want a P226, but I don't know if I should be a West Germanfag, anchorfag, or legionfag.
>>29794986
The new 941s have a frame safety. The Beretta required it for the military contract and the 5906 isn't even made anymore.
>>29795269
>Because you can inadvertently flip the safety on or off when racking the slide.
That's it? No mechanical issue? Just a training issue? Well, train.
>>29795269
>I want a P226, but I don't know if I should be a West Germanfag, anchorfag, or legionfag.
Just save up for a regular one or wait for topgunsupply to bring in police trade ins for $500. There's no need to spend close to $900 on a gun you may or may not like.
>legion
>mk25
I really hate how people have made a meme out of this and base their opinions on sigs from these two models alone.
>>29795269
>I want a P226, but I don't know if I should be a West Germanfag, anchorfag, or legionfag.
The answer is simple - be an X-fag
>>29795367
you could say the same thing about serpa holsters and glock legs. combat is a high stress environment, and even even veterans can get distracted and slip up. Reducing the number of things to fuck it is just dealing with murphy's law.
I have literally never accidentally engaged the slide mounted safety on a 92 and they are some of my favorite pistols. I don't think it is anywhere near the issue the internet acts like it is.
And if it is, get a G model.
Pic related, it's my G model. With a piece of plastic garbage.
>>29795136
Well when you're right you're right
DA/SA masterrace
>>29795441
>G model
this little nigger knows what's up
>>29795402
>police trade in
But I don't want it in .40
>>29795422
>$3k for a SAO
I'd buy a Wilson Combat 1911 if I wanted that.
>>29795423
You could say the same thing about anything and you could say fighter pilots could crash their aircraft by accidentally hitting one of the many many wrong switches but they don't because it's a training issue.
>>29795521
>But I don't want it in .40
You don't need to. Which is why I said wait. I bought a 9mm DA/SA for $500 last year.
>>29795521
>$3k for a SAO
>I'd buy a Wilson Combat 1911 if I wanted that.
And this is why I love the free market. Though I'm gutted the X-production will move to Exeter.
Will they call it then Ex5 then?
I want one of these so fucking bad.

You know what is terrible? People who can not cope with a different manual of arms. Not everything is a Glock or 1911.
If you want to know how to deal with slide controls, here you go.
Is it a DA/SA? Deactivate the safety as you establish your grip in the holster.
Reloading? Use the side release. Every pistol you mentioned has a large lever designed for easy use. If you have short thumbs you can use your support side thumb. Failing that you could actually pay attention to what you are doing.
Now, the Jericho in particular suffers from having a harder slide to manage. Practice and hand strength are the solution here.
The S&WS have a positively massive slide, and very prominent controls. If you have small hands, you will have to adapt.
The 92 can be a challenge for some due to its grip circumference. The a1 version helps that a bit, and the Vertex helps it a lot. The only control this has a meaningful impact on is the slide release. The safety meme is nonsense. I have trained people on m9s for a decade and have never seen someone activate the safety inadvertantly.
Is your objection to slide safeties based on any actual experience, or have you spent a bit too much time on the internet?
>>29795663
I don't even own a Beretta, but that will be my first if I ever buy one.
