Why is the Tokarev 5 times as expensive as the PPSH? I can understand western arms being way more expensive then Eastern surplus due to supply, but it seems like price on handguns is high considering the price of rifles and explosives.

Ok so about the gun laws.
Owning a weapon is legal as long as
Its not used by the military/semi auto.
Buying/selling/making a gun is illegal.
But getting a license is easy.
So when you go to register your G17 at the police station they don't ask you where you got it from.
That's why there are no real gun stores
>>
>>29791651
most the people dont really abide by absurd gun laws, if they have the opportunity they will buy more.

>>
Is it true pellet guns are entirely illegal than fire arms?

>>29791693
Absolutely nothing other than maybe your conscience.
And I have no idea how do they get them.

>>
Since self defense is a human right, we should be smuggling crates of Glocks into Iraq for sale to the people.
>>
>>29791783
no one is stopping you, but good luck communicating with the local people since you dont know arabic.
>>
>>29791693
Glocks prolly come from cops and Saudi.
The M4 and 92fs are from dead soldiers.
The german guns are from donations and crooked israeli navy.
knockoff glocks are from iran and turkey
old guns from WWII are from that time, or from israel and dead russians from afgan conflicts
bling bling is from saddam's palace.

I wanna say those grenades are russian mini's but its possible they are M67's. Cant tell because they scraped off all the writing. The pineapple is def US from WWII, or old stock donation to iraqi army .

If a bunch of soldiers have to march into a city toting full body armor and machine guns, they're afraid that the populous can fuck them up. If they stroll in with pistols, the populous knows that they think that they can just execute someone and not worry about consequences as hey didn't bring heavy weapons because they're confident that they're in control

It's illegal in the north, been trying to find someone to sell a gun in Erbil and Sulaymaniya. Everyone told me you need to be a resident and also have a special permission.

Wasn't a problem to buy mags, acogs or handguards tho

So it's totally legal in the other parts?
>>
>>29793973
>The city of erbil is completely safe but the surrounding areas are not

That's bullshit m8, the whole fucking north is safe. There's been more incidents and bombings in Turkey in the last years, than in Iraqi-Kurdistan.

People always tell stories about taxi drivers taking them to Mossul to sell them to Da'ish, stuff like that. But it's bullshit, there's Pesh checkpoints like every 20km, and it's impossible for civies to get even close to the frontline.
>>
>>29791646

They use Dinar normally, but everyone's happy if you give them $
>>
>>29791378
>Pesh are poor

Seriously, why are you posting so much bullshit? They're not poor, they get a lot fucking money.

And there's been like 2 or 3 G36 missing since they were delivered by Germany, it's not like eveyones selling them once they get them.

>>29791592

Don't believe that bullshit, it's nothing more than 2 or 3 that have been sold. There's a shitload of Peshmerga soldiers in Kurdistan, and whoever is issued on one of the G36 or G3 is fucking happy and keeps it. Probably just some single cases of people who really needed money and tried to sell theirs. You're not gonna find a picture of one of them on a gun bazar, for that reason.

Yes, it is totally legal in the gulf region. However, it is illegal to have more than one magazine. You can own full auto but you can't have more than one 30-rd mag.

I've been to fucking Bashur over 5x in the last 2 years, that's why i'm saying that.

>>29798932

Well i've been arguing with people in Erbil over that, i didn't believe the Pesh actually get a lot of money. But they actually do, better paid than most other jobs in Kurdistan.

He's not making shit up, he's just mistaking the laws under US occupation with actual Iraqi laws.

One rifle + one mag was what the US allowed the Iraqis under their occupation

So how easy is it to fight ISIS now as a foreigner?
>>
>>29798970

Dude, i said it's illegal if you're not a resident or don't own a license. And you just proofed me right. Like i said, I've been desperately trying to find out how it works in Kurdistan, because i've been interested in it and thought i might find a fancy gun for a few dinar.

And i'm really interested why you think it's somehow unsafe around Erbil, i've been fucking everywhere there. From sully to duhok, from soran to the border of mossul. also some tours through the mountains in qandil and gare.

It's safe fucking everywhere, not a single problem or even a story about one. In and between the cities the Pesh keep everything safe, and the PKK is keeping watch over the mountains. No problems, anywhere. like i said, it's more unsafe in Turkey. Hell, East Turkey was a fucking mess, those cops and the army are fucking rude lunatics who harrass everyone who's not a resident and also pure Turkish.
>>
>>29798973
If you can afford to plop down the $3 grand for unrestricted airfare then you can join the effort to fight the IS. You don't get paid but you get 3 hots and a cot.

Just a funny side fact, i also met the British and German soldiers who work as instructors for the Pesh.

They act like really tough guys because they are in Iraq, but actually they just hang their balls in the pool most of the day. They live in 5 star hotels in Erbil, probably one of the safest cities in the middle east. They train the Pesh for like 6 hours a day, the rest of the day they drink booze at the pool or hang around in the sauna.

The border is closed since years, if you read interviews with people who fought for YPG, every single on of them say they're being smuggled over the Tigris at night. It's open for civilian and trade traffic, from time to time tho.

And from time to time, some of the volunteers get caught. Happened last year before the 3 Brits got caught this year, one US citizen, one Canuck, one Spaniard.

One guy said on their way back, they were just brought over the border near Shingal/Sinjar. YPG is allowed to cross the border there, as they are fighting (or have been fighting) there, too.

Even Kurds just call it Kurdî, the ones speaking of Kurmancî or Soranî are mostly foreigners. It's more like different dialects. Kurds from Turkey and Iraq can communicate, with some difficulties maybe, but it's very close to each other.

>>
>>29799421
Are you actually Kurdish and speaking from your own experience?

>It's more like different dialects.
That would be quite a stretch considering that Kurmanji has gender, cases, and split ergativity, whereas Sorani lacks all of them. Calling them both Kurdî has more to do with Kurdish nationalism than linguistics.
>>
>>29799456
Û ez ne kurd im but I'd like to learn it (Kurmanji) one day.
>>
>>29799365
No.
I speak both but for the first few years I was in erbil couldn't understand a single word.
Even the simplest words like water and lunch are different.
>>
>>29799456
>>29799421
Officially speaking both of them are called kurdish.
But the normal person says kurmanji/badini and sorani
>>
>>29799456

No, but i speak some Kurmancî. And have been to Başûr, has never been a problem talking to anyone. Not sure if they just all speak some Kurmancî tho, i've always been sure the two kinds of Kurdish are just very close.

I'm sure there's very, very few differences in grammar, are you sure Soranî doesn't have gender, cases and split ergativity? I had some Soranî lessons in the past, but i'm not 100% sure. Maybe OP could clear up on this.

In the beginning, i always made the differentation between the two when talking, but people always replied there's only one Kurdish language, and referred to it as Kurdî themselves
>>
>>29799477

Water is Av in Kurmancî, what's the word in Soranî? I think it's the same actually

Are you sure it's not just because of the countries where it's spoken? Like, Kurds from Turkey using a lot of loan words in Kurmancî, and Iraqi Kurds using many Arabic ones?
>>
>>29799492
It's "aw" as in pound.
And you're kind of right.
For example Kurds in duhok say "seyare" which means car in Arabic.
But in Diyar bakir they say "erebe" which means car in Turkish.
So even though both are kurmanji.
They are very influenced by Arabic and Turkish
>>
>>29799529
>erebe

Is like the actual Turkish word is pronounced with a strong Kurdish dialect, it's actually Araba. I laughed when i discovered how many "kurmancî" words are actually just Turkish ones pronounced Kurdish. Like "Mutfax", which is actually Mutfak in Turkish.. kitchen. YPG officials are often talking about Taxems in interviews, also just the Turkish word Takem.
>>
>>29799553
Same thing in sorani.
They literally use the same Arabic word but make it sound kurdish.
Believe it or not there are even some English words in the sorani language.
For example "autism" in kurdish is "otîzm"
Which is pronounced "oh-tee-zim"
>>
>>29799553
And 'matbax' come from Arabic.

kitchen in Arabic = مطبخ 'matbakh'
>>
>>29799400

There's linguists who say Bavarian and German are different languages, but it's the same fucking language. Bavarian is even available as a language on Wikipedia, no idea why the fuck they did that. Probably some Bavarian nationalists.

Bavarian is just German how it's spoken by people drunk and without teeth, maybe it's the same with the different Kurdish ones.
>>
>>29799577
What's Kurmancî for "You autistic fuck"?

Bit of a long shot here but I don't suppose you can recommend any phrase books or learning resources can you? Especially with a military/medical leaning? I have a couple of basic pdfs but I never know how to get the proper pronunciations

Dude what?

If you want a nice Kurdish gf, go to Germany, Belgium or France. There's a shitload of Kurds there, they speak English + the specific country's language, and are probably more open minded than any girl you'd find innadessert.

Problem with girls from muslim countries, even the less traditional ones or the ones who grew up in Europe, is they want to marry you right away after a few dates. They all want to get married and have kids as soon as possible, and once they're slightly in love, they want to chain you up.

Doesn't matter, poo-poo fingers is a thing now.

But to be fair, i had to try that once in Brazil. A lot of indians do that, even in the cities. And after long discussion and hillarious displaying, i tried it. If you use the right technique, it's actually pretty cool. And not like you get actual shit on your hands. Feels way cleaner afterwards. Also, the human body is made to shit squatting on the ground. Sitting on a toilet, there's always a little amount of feces remaining in your intestine. Squatting brings it all out, and using some water in your hands to clean up afterwards gives you a real good feeling.

Every proctologist can confirm this.
>>
>>29804474

How the fuck does that thing work? Do you like manually rinse your shit down the hole?
>>
>>29804424
Depends on what's available.
But definitely real toilets if they are there.
>>29804559
After you complete shitting you use the bucket or hose to remove what ever shit is remaining there.
After that you clean what's remaining with your hands.
It truly is disgusting
>>
>>29804559

What? No, you just squat and shit. Then you take some tab water, like from the one on the right, and "flush" it down.
Then you take some water in your hand, hold it under your anus, and splash it untill it's clean. Once almost everything is gone, you can also just wash the area. And then you use a shitload of soap to wash your hands, even though you don't actually touched shit. But it helps to get over the dirty caveman feeling the first few times.

If you think this is funny, you should have been there when the Brazilians showed me how to do it.

It's actual usefull to know that, you can basically shit everywhere and feel clean afterwards, all you need is a bottle of water.

The kids in Red Dawn take tons of toiletpaper with them once they go full guerilla, now i know that's 1st world bullshit. You don't need that.

I've never seen WW2 German guns.
Even if there were some around I don't think anyone will buy them since ammo is non existent.
And also because there is 0 gun culture here.
Like for example an early prototype STG that may cost 5000$+ in the USA would probably be sold for 100$ over here.
Since no one actually knows the gun's real value
