Why did the US not invent guided bombs like Fritz-X? If the USN had B-17s dropping guided bombs, the Pacific would've been won before the war even started.
>>
>>29783762
because the Japanese would then realized they they needed guided missiles and we would have lost more bombers in the long run
>>
>>29783762
But they did

The technology and the drive to develop guided bombs wasn't there before WW2. Plus the US didn't mind bombing the shit out of cities full of women and children to make a point.
>>
>>29783762
Fuck that.
We were planning on dropping guided B-17's.

Fukken cunts. They should just come down here and face us in the open. Damn the consequences.

They probably went through with the same thing when they were still biological, or then they're just using their improved intellect to understand us. If they're actually out there, they're right fucking cunts for not contacting us in public.
>>
>>29784015
To be fair, they're probably smart enough to realize that if they touch down somewhere public, they're probably going to be shot at. Either by a redneck or by a hood rat.

I certainly would.

Considering they should have the technology to negate conventional firearms, or send disposable drones. there is no reason that I understand why they would not contact humanity in public. Either they do not exist, or then their scheming is beyond my intellect, unless they themselves are stupid creatures with no enhanced cognitive capabilities for whatever retarded reason, which in itself does not make a lot of sense.

How are B-17s going to bomb Japan during the early stages of WW2? Guided bombs or no there's still that whole range thing.

We did it with B-25s. Not the same, and a one off. But we did it.
>>
>>29784150
And did that end the war?
>>
>>29784157
I'm just saying it was possible.
>>
>>29784150
Doolittle raid was hardly a reproduceable action all things told.

There still were no airbases to land and fly B17s from.
>>
>>29784181
And completely insufficient to win a war, which is what OP suggested would have happened. Not that his idiocy is your fault.

They did, and arguably more advanced ones than the Germans.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Azon
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bat_%28guided_bomb%29
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GB-4
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GB-8
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VB-6_Felix
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LBD_Gargoyle

The main difference is that the Germans were more willing to risk aircrews by using untested weaponry in combat.

>>29784125
>fritz-x
The idea kind of obviously is to use B-17s as long range IJN fucking squadron, you dumb nigger.
>>
>>29784829
Are you retarded? If you need the range of a B-17 to target IJN task forces that far out then you also must have insanely long range scout planes able to fly at about Mach 2 so that the B-17s can manage to actually sortie and attack with any functionality.

Your idea is stupid and you're stupid.
