Russia has had some failure designs.
Tokarev was a retard with the SVT38/SVT40, unreliable finicky piece of junk that beats itself to death.
Simonov's design is not very reliable either and extremely prone to slam firing, the action fouls itself extremely badly as well.
Only people who even will say the SKS beats the ak in any way are canadians who can't own a AK, but they can own 5 round SKS's.

the only thing I don't see wrong with it is the wood stock, I'm a sucker for good stock sets. But comparing an SKS to an AK-47M is like comparing the M1 Garand to the M16. Yeah sure the Garand was great for the time but it's hella low capacity and unmodualr as fuck.

Well, some of it anyways. The SKS is basically worse than an AK in every way, but it is reliable, and slam firing only happens to idiots.
Also, the SVT40 functions very well IF AND ONLY IF YOU CALIBRATE THE GAS SYSTEM FOR THE AMMO YOU ARE USING.

china seemed to like it. they tested the AK and the SKS side by side and decided they preferred the SKS for mass issue. Later, when it came time yo replace the SKS with something more modern and indigenous they decided to base it on the SKS because the AK was unsatisfactory
pic related, the type 63. it was replaced by the type 81, which takes more inspiration from the AK, mostly externally but differs sharply from it internally. I've heard it's a lot more controllable in F/A then the type 56

My grandfather recently passed away, and was buried with full honors. One of the displays at the funeral was a pair of boots and a rifle stuck bayonet first in the ground with a sailor cap on the button (he was Navy) I was kinda shocked that the rifle was an SKS. But I thought about it and the rifle had been introduced by then, and Russia was an ally- so I made of one of the shots a double vodka later on.

I've shot at least a thousand rounds through my SVT40 and they do not beat themselves to death unless you have the gas set to full. It does FTE once in a while when the bolt catches the ejected one on the return.
I'm guessing you haven't used one because you mentioned Canadians.
Absolutely nobody will ever tell you the SKS is better than an AK for anything but the price, you retard.
