For local manufacture, Canada is getting the Modern Varminter, which is just slightly not an AR-15, thus making it non-restricted.
Also, NEA is making a non-restricted AR-10, but that is a longer ways off. Owing to the weirdness of our laws, the AR-15 is restricted, but the original design of the AR-10 is non-restricted. If they rechamber their AR-10 in .223 it would be pretty funny.

I thought the RCMP just claims the AR-10 is an AR-15 variant and restricts it anyway? You mean AR-10s have been non-res this entire time? Or do you mean they're making an example replica of the original '50s design to skirt the bullshit law?

They're making an exact replica of the original design, which would make it NR. Modern AR-10s are derivatives of the AR-15 revision, so they get classed as restricted.
If NEA's logic works, they'll get it NR, but we'll have to see what the RCMP comes back and says.

Bought a T3 Lite in 8x57IS this year.
Its nice and reliable. I would have loved iron sights but you cant have everything.
Only problem is the recoil. Your shoulder is seriously fucked up after 20 shots and you really need limbsaver or something similar.
