Alright /k/ikes, real question here.
What if we armed everyone person to the teeth (regardless of age) in unstable countries?
Hear me out. It would help stabilize and bring back at least some sort of law because there can't be a group of thugs to gain power because every house they walk in they just get shot. And then it gets to such a point where people don't want to steal or anything bad because everyone is locked and loaded.
Yes I know that there will be accidental deaths, children and women dying, and death for small crimes. But really, wouldn't all that bad stuff still be a lot less than the mess that is the civil wars in Africa and the Middle East?
Like everyone is distributed a 9mm and guns and bullets are constantly air dropped to make sure someone isn't hording them all. I mean absolutely flood the market. No group can make money from 'protection' or extortion or arm sales therefore no one can rise up and everyone lives in this iron fist socialism.

I like how you think but what would Ban Ki Moon say?

This is a beautiful idea
To bad the rest of society thinks from an emotional standpoint, rather than a logical one.

If we give them all Hi-Points we would be out $75 dallar as a nation. We could fix the worlds problems and cut the military. I love you OP.

It's like you want to see the world burn

You will just have big strong gangs oppressing weaker gangs or the unaffiliated.

Isn't Somalia already like this?

I don't think it's dolve anything by itself, because what these places need most is a stable legitimate government of some sort that can control warlords and maintain basic infrastructure. However, it -might- help in securing a fledgeling government from said warlords (and foreign intervention) long enough for it to become stable.

No cause only warlords allow their warriors armed.

Iraq is pretty much like you described.
Even the people who don't have guns can simply go and get one.
Yet crimes happen everyday
Isis is a thing

You're the guy who lives in Erbil? I've been to Erbil a few times, also looking through a few military shops. Across the street of some mall with shops which all only sold the same kind of shirt, about 10 shops in a row.. a few blocks from the old bazar and that huge ass fortress in the city center. They sell all kind of stuff, up to rifle handguards, plate carriers, and acogs. all free available. I've been asking for actual weapons, they said if i'm a foreigner, i wouldn't get any. So i've been looking around myself tho, found a taxidriver who brought me to an actual gun store for 5k dinar. those guys were really weird, they didn't even want to let me in. Guy told me in English i need a official permission to buy guns in Iraq, at least in Kurdistan, and that police and pesh are really behind that. similiar experience in Sulaymaniya a week later.

Not exactly like i imagined it.

By the way, Iraqi-Kurdistan is fucking awesome. Best chicken i ever had, and an incredible amount of liquor stores in Erbil-Ankawa. What are you doing there?
