I put a Vortex Sparc 2 read dot on one of my AR15s. I got its for $99.99 with my military discount. I'm going to use it for a home defense gun.

What optics do you use for home defense /k/?

Here's down the sight.
>>
I too use a sparc II for my ar. But for home defense I just have a sigsp2022 in 9mm.
>>
>>29767233
How do you like the Sparc II? I had a hard time sighting it in because it was so far off when I got it.
>>
>>29767218
I have a primary arms microdot for my ak74.

Which I literally never zeroed or use. A nice $300 paperweight
>>
>>29767247
I like it a lot actually. I sighted mine in at 25 meters to get it on, then 100. It only took about 10 rounds.
>>
>>29767218
Should have gotten an Advanced micro dot
Smaller, better battery life, better FOV

>>
>>29767300
Mounting stuff cost $140
>>
>>29767306
I'm guessing you mean to mount it to an AK?
>>
Just a reminder that you are 30x more likely to accidentally shoot yourself with a home defense firearm than you are to defend yourself from a home invasion.
>>
>>29767338
how do you quantify 30x?

>>29767313
Yup. Might sell the mounting stuff and use the dot for my ar.
>>
>>29767218
> Vortex Strikefire II
> Vortex Viper PST
> Aimpoint PRO

Whichever one is closest.
>>
>>29767338
It's impossible to accidentally shoot yourself unless you're a complete retard, meaning it's illegal for you to own guns in the first place.
>>
>>29767396
its a nice damn dot, mayne
It's been on my AR for...fuck I don't even know how long and the dot still runs and has held zero well even on a shitty UTG riser
>>
>>29767218
Had mine for about a year and finally got it zeroed two weeks ago for 25 yards. Awesome sight when it's on.
>>
>>29767447
>Awesome sight when it's on.

Well yeah, it wouldn't be very effective when it's off
>>
>>29767452
On referring to its zero. Coincidentally, it is quite effective when it's off with BUIS. I have it lower 1/3 cowitness. Nothing gets in the way and transition from dot to irons is smooth.
>>
>>29767338
> small price to pay
>>
>>29767230
That seems obtrusive. I just use a glock for HD, but if i wanted a rifle with an optic, I'd want it to be as open as possible. Like the actual red dot sight from CoD4, or something similar.
>>
>>29767218
You need an aim point t2, with flip up sights. Mount it to an integrally suppressed 10.5 inch upper. Must have at minimum a peq-16 with pressure pad. If you trust you and your families lives to anything but the best possible weapon combination money can buy you, you are a terrible person. You wouldn't send your sick child to the cheapest doctor would you. Take some cqb classes. Learn to protect those you love.
>>
>>29767564
Ok james I'll get right on that
>>
>>29767550
only companies that make that type of optic are cheap as shit and break easily
I wish someone would make one that was shit, though because they're pretty nice for FOV

Anyone have experience with the Burris fastfire, or maybe that snazzy combo they have with the tactical scope for $500 or whatever the fuck it is?

seems a lot for an optic, but this would be for my home defense Beretta CX4.
>>
>>29767593
>HURR DURR got my double barrel boom stick.

Use a real weapon tard. Watch a tactical video sometime. Protect what is yours
>>
>>29767606
>paying that much for shit battery life
>>
>>29767606
RMRs are like 500 right? Just get that breh
>>
>>29767396
Selling the mount you say?
>>
>>29767218
>>Optic
>>For home-defense

Just mount a flashlight or fucking ziptie a cheap small one on your shotgun or AR. You literally don't need one unless you live in a mansion/castle with hallways being more than 25 yards is the norm. If fun and a heavy wallet is telling you to use an optic for indoors, then get a NV scope with flash hider/suppressor.

>>FUCK YOU 4CHAN MOBILE
>>I CAN'T POST MFW.JPG
>>
>>29767606
Yes. The Burris lives up to its name. I mounted one in my ar, and it promptly caught one fire. I threw a few of them in my survival bag.
>>
>>29767614
You realize how much a sperg you sound like right now right
