I actually got into a discussion at work with someone about Australia's gun laws, and pulled a bunch of statistics. I don't have them on hand but from 1995 -the most recent stats I could find, they were basically-
>rape in aus has doubled
>assault is way up
>crimes like break ins and robbery are all up over 50%
Meanwhile all comparable statistics on the U.S. are down a cross the board. IIRC, before the Port Aurthor shooting AUS was "safer" than the US, with less violent crime per capita. Since then that has reversed, and today you are much more likely to be raped, stabbed, or robbed down under than in freedom land.
The ONLY stastistic they win out on is shooting deaths and injuries. But that is overshadowed by such a huge increase in violent crime overall ONLY a drooling retard would consider their gun laws an overall success.
