Bolt action rifles
>can use pointed ammo
>a very simple, failproof action
>a rotating bolt is inherently strong
>can buy more mags for quick reloading
>free floating barrel gives accuracy advantage over semi autos
>very cheap
>easy cleaning
>almost no maintenance required
>can handle any grain of ammo without feeding issues
>quieter than semi auto
>lightweight
>can shoot while prone

Lever action rifles
>much more expensive than bolt action rifles
>can't shoot while prone
>bitch to clean
>slightly faster follow up shots than bolt action
>I am a cowboy

Why do people buy lever action rifles?
>>
>>29765952
>I am a cowboy

That's why I bought one
>>
>>29765952
You can fire prone, it just hurts your wrist to twist that way
>>
>>29765952
Because they like them
>>
>>29765952
>>slightly faster follow up shots than bolt action

much faster
>>
>>29765952
>implying lever actions cant use pointed ammo
>implying lever actions cant be used while prone
fudds pls go and say go
>>
>can use pointed ammo
You mean spitzers. So can lever actions for various reasons.
>very cheap
Sure, the budget and surplus models
>can handle any grain of ammo without feeding issues
It can hand what the may well allows unless you single load, which applies to anything but a revolver.
>quieter than semi auto
Negligible unless your can and ammo are extremely quiet.
>lightweight
Depends entirely on the model
>can shoot while prone
Every gun ever

>slightly faster follow up shots than bolt action
Nothing slight about it

So aside from assuaging your autism, what was the point of this? Justifying a narrative in your head? You could have read through the lever action thread and learned all of this or just Googled the shit
>>
>>29765952
45-70 is probably the only reason, besides people buying them in countries where they cannot get semiautos. But even there I'd rather get something like a straight-pull Vz 58
>>
own a few for cowboy action shooting and hunt deer with one. Just love the way they handle and operate
>>
>>29766306
But still slower overall.

>What is the Winchester 1895

Hell, it used 54r in some varients.

Because I live in Straya cunt, so no semiauto funs
>>
Bolt actions are boring. Unless you get milsurp or something, every commercial durr gun looks and handles the same.
>>
Don't levers with box mags exist?

They could use spitzers.
>>
>>29766994
Browning makes some.
Takedown models too
.223 to .300wm
>>
Guns are tools, but they also are a hobby. People like getting new things, adding variety to their collection, discoverin new mecanisms, shooting different calibers, practicing different shooting styles at the range, spending monney, HAVING FUN.

What's so hard to understand about that?
>>
>>29765952
I fire quicker and more accurately with my model 94 30-30
>>
>>29765952
>Why do people buy lever action rifles?
They're faster to shoot, you don't have to break your cheek weld to cycle the action, they're flatter and trimmer than a semi or bolt action and, most importantly to me, they usually have loading gates.
>>
>>29766326
How? Explain to me how.
>>
>>29765952
Cost, free float, detachable magazines, quality, feeding (see mossberg mvp) all depend on the quality of it and an actual quality bolt action can cost $1000+ not including optic which you will need because they usually don't come with irons. Unless your talking milsurp in which case none of your origional argument really applies.

You bet your ass I'd take a marlin 336 over a remington 770. However I'd take a browning Xbolt over a marlin 336 for hunting.

As far as being an actual guide gun I'd always go lever over bolt. Cause of muh 45-70. Muh rapid fire. And muh highspeed low drag cowboyness.

you points on bolt actions
>can you use pointed ammo
try and learn the jargon bud, it spitzer shaped bullet.
>can buy more mags
not all use detachable magazines.
>can handle any grain ammo
no shit any properly design gun can do that.
>lightweight
comparing weight between most guns are stupid because all small arms fall in the same range of 6-10lbs and with that range it really doesnt matter because bolts actions tend to fall towards 10lbs.
>accuracy advantage over semi autos.
you are comparing bolt to lever actions why even bring up semi autos.
>almost no maintenance required
same goes for lever actions.

and as for you bit on lever actions
>cant shoot prone.
yah you can.
>bitch to clean
pretty friggin easy to clean.
>much more exspensive than bolt action.
not if you buy used
>fast follow up shots
yep, and depending on the cartridge and gun you can shoot more ammo.
>i am a cowboy
more like i am a utilitarian.
>>
>>29765952

>expensive
Fair enough.
>can't shoot while prone
Maybe if you're retarded. I've shot my BLR prone plenty of times.
>bitch to clean
How so? I clean mine all the time and I don't find it particularly difficult,
>slightly faster
Much faster.
>can't use pointed ammo
Well aside from the fact that the odds of rounds going off in a tube mag being exceptionally slim, you can also get them with box mags.
>I'm a cowboy
Damn fuckin straight.
>>
>>29765952
Looks good feels good.
>>
Hey OP, have you ever thought about not being a faggot and just not buying a gun you don't like instead of trying to tell people it's bad?
>>
>>29765952
>>free floating barrel gives accuracy advantage over semi autos
Many bolt action rifles are not free floating and many semi autos can be free floating.

>Pop off rounds with my Big Boy .357
>Take 600 yard shots with my Ruger precision .308

Variety is the spice of life
>>
>>29766326
The vast majority of commercial bolt action rifles use blind mags with no stripper clip guide. So no
