Okay, I need some help guys.
Picked up this rifle recently and I can't find any info on it anywhere.
It's a 1903 of some variant, but the stock is, of course, sporterized, and there are very few identifying marks anywhere on the rifle.
I'll post all the identifying marks I can find over the next few minutes, any info at all is appreciated.
Mainly though, I'm trying to figure out what variant it is, who made it, and when they made it.
The only thing I am 100% sure of is that the serial for the receiver is 5005xxx.

Capital "P" on bottom side of muzzle

Left side of Barrel, about half-way down.

Take the scope mounts off, there should be more info under there.
Also, it looks like an 1903a3, judging by the stamped bottom metal.

Small "R" behind bolt handle/in front of safety, on bolt assembly.

Will do, one sec.

Sporterized 03A3, Hope you didnt pay much for it
>>29759231
$230. It also had an non-serialized Weaver V8 2.5-8 Scope On it, in addition to the Lyman ironsights.
Stock is also pretty nice, for a sporter. Monte-Carlo style, Black Walnut.

You were correct, though I'm not sure what the middle words are, due to the screw holes.

Oh its an 03A3 that was modified by Santa Fe Arms in the 1950s I think. I dont know how much they go for but regardless its till a Sporterized 03A3. Thing is probably worth 175-200 so you may have over payed. Also the "R" Stamps are for Remington

Santa Fe.
Thats a non-military receiver built with military parts.

Looks good OP, glad it's was sporterized properly.

Eh, considering the scope that came with it, and the really nice padded leather sling, I'd say I broke even, at worse.
I've shot it already, there weren't any problems with accuracy or feeding.
I'm happy with it.
Thank you for the info, guys.

Oh it came with a scope? Okay then you probably made some money.

Even if I hadn't, I've bought guns in the past, one for $350 and one for $600, that have given me about $2,700 worth of leeway.
