This is an Australian designed and made variant of an Austrian rifle, you might call it Austro-Australian
>>
>>29754205
They made Yvonne Strahovski. She's Australian, right? I'm pretty sure she is.

The convict colony in the pacific
Takes a fine Austrian weapon and manages not to fuck it up.

Australia does make some sweet stuff though
>>
pavlova is delicious
>>
Australia has always made good guns.
Half a million odd SMLE produced and my mum assembled or test fired fifty a day.

In the three years she worked on them, only four failed proofing and less than one in a hundred fails to group 1.5 MOA.

The SR98 is a good rifle as well.
>>
>>29754633
Pavlova is a NZ invention!

>>29754528
Ahh yes mate. See, nutnfancy wouldn't have been bitchin if he was allowed to see the aug's true form
>>
>>29754666
The A3 isn't the straya one though. Thales made this one:
>>29754528
>>
>>29754249
Nope, that's an A3, You're thinking of the F88/F90.
>>
>>29754647
Bad ass, My friend just picked up one, a Mk4 I think, $700 in great nic.
>>
>>29754689
But isn't Thales a French company ?
>>
>>29754528
When does the brass deflector come?
>>
>>29754689
How's F88/F90 any different from an AUG?
>>
>>29754249
>correcting someone when you're wrong.
>>
>>29754738
Different optic rail solution. I think the brass deflector as someone mentioned switches sides more simply as well

This is the Australian built variant, the F90 (EF88)
>>
>>29754839
man those magazines are ugly as fuck. Any idea if they're reliable?
>>

No backup iron sights?
>>

>>
>>29754878
Theyll do.
>>29754894
Havent used the EF88/F90 but the standard sight on the F88 had over the top iron sights.
The Enhanced Optic Sight however...

>>29754795
Also the iirc the barrel is different too.
>>
There was a great article in Australian Shooter about this gun last month. I quite like it. Pity I can't just buy one in Ausfalia.
>>
>>29754992
Yep still have a copy somewhere around here
>>
>>29754878
Standard test to prove the mag's durability, was to run over them with an APC on the grass. The polymer mags faired well. Even if they cracked, their elastic nature ensured they'd still feed. This compared well to steel STANAG mags that bent and stayed bent, preventing further use.

Wank story, but there you go.
>>
>>29754741
>>29754698
So does the Aug have anything to do with Australia, or was this just an S-Class troll thread?
>>
>>29754992
Oh fuck yes. Oddly enough, I was just thinking about this game.
>>
>>29755079
Also, transparent mag has gotta be good for keeping track of ammo expenditure. Aside from the G36, what other service rifles use transparent mags?
>>
>>29755080
Yeah the Australian's licenced the AUG so they could make the F88, which is a regular AUG, super minor alterations, takes a harder round than regular NATO. F90 is a lighter and more ergo one designed by Lithgow.
>>
>>29755095
I think the SIG rifle series use clear mags
>>
>>29755110
Okay, thanks man. I was really confused as to why they were calling it an Australian gun
>>
>>29755095
US mil used to let you use pmags and lancer mags with windows but they banned anything but usgi mags recently.
>>
>>29755112
That's true, and I'm pretty sure I've seen pictures of yanks using the newer Pmags with the window if that counts.
>>
>>29755130
Why did they ban them? I heard they're well liked because they bounce instead of denting when you drop them.

Even though Steyr are fucking jews, the AUG is fucking great.
>>
>>29754647
The Leader T2 is also a brilliant simplification of the AR18, it's AK tier.
>>
>>29755185
I used to think the Glock gap was bad until I handled an M&P For the first time. Seriously it's like an eighth of an inch.
>>
>>29755185
Like 7 out of 10 current service pistols have this kind of gap, it gives clearance for dirt so it can more easily cycle if dirty.

Back when straya knew how to have an industry and not just export dirt to China there were some good moments.

You may have heard of Kentucky windage, but you haven't fired a gun until you have tried Australian elevation.
