Students are secretly paid to write papers for them, "tutor them" IE do their homework for them, and often they put them in online versions of legitimate courses to make sure someone else takes the finals. At a really big school you can get away with having someone else take their finals.
I wasn't even at a very big school, bigger than many but middle-sized, with a football team you've probably heard of. One of the chairs of our chemistry department got caught selling answer keys to athletes. Another prof was investigated when a TA was found "making mistakes" on athletes exams to boost their scores.
Yeah, go play your little sport while you're young and enjoy the parties. If that whole NFL dream doesn't work out then enjoy selling used cars or middle-management, assuming you didn't injure yourself while over-exerting your body and losing your scholarship in the process.
