what does /k/ think of this bullpup?
I've been considering buying the MDR, but with bullpups it seems to be a hit or miss. Does anyone have any experience with this rifle? comes in 5.56 and .308 it seems, with a .300 blackout conversion kit that you can buy.
>>29737869
How can you consider buying something that doesn't even exist?
Is this a joke?
that charging handle carrier is just begging for a sand bukkake
>>29737869
2000 dollar price point BTW
Hole .E fuck that mag release looks terrible
>>29737878
its coming out?
when is it coming out anyway
>>29737869
vaporware worse than pic related. Very few people have even had the chance to test it, and no one freakin' knows when it will roll off the presses (although they apparently started taking preorders).
I'm interested in the .308 version, but really that's it. Bullpups are a buyer's market right now and these guys are REALLY fucking late.
Why not just give your money to the Jews and buy a Tavor?
>>29737978
is that butter?
>>29737986
it's official german doner kebap sauce. europeans are way ahead of us in the strange sauce game
>>29737897
3 days before the RDB
Nevuary 33rd.
>>29738032
German's don't use tzaziki? I guess that explains why Vertz Kebab has been so slow taking off.
>>29737881
Yea that is a decent price
>>29738042
Kek
>>29738228
If it ever was released to the public
>>29737899
I saw one of those today.
>>29737894
What? The MDR has an AR15 style push button mag release.
>>29737880
More than an ar's ejection port?
I want an MDR. I wot drop the money til I see reviews. I'm excited to see mac do a review.
I like bullpups. I'm designing my own. If I ever have the ability to make it I'll give building it a shot. Idk if it will work but I wanna try.
>>29737880
This is an interesting point, because the operating parts of the MDR are more sealed off than any other rifle short of the FS2000. The forward ejection chute has a spring loaded dust cover that automatically opens and closes as each case is sent past it, so there's no place for dirt/etc to enter the action where the chamber/bolt/feed ramps/ejector lever/trigger pack/hammer/etc that would typically have trouble with such fouling operate.
Then at the same time, there's the gaping slots in the side where the charging handle is, with what appears to be direct access to the piston/op rod/recoil spring and possible access to the trigger and magazine release linkages. The front trunnion does seem like it would mostly seal the rest of the operating components from that area though. It'll be interesting to see how the final product performs.
>>29739285
I don't think it'll be an issue desu. Yeah if they had sealed it (with the charging handle itself maybe) it'd be better but overall I don't think it will cause any problems.
>>29739285
Assuming they both came out at the same time, would you guys go with the MDR or MSBS for your bullpup needs?
>>29739367
MDR because it was designed and built as a bullpup. The MSBS, while easier to convert to a bullpup, is still a bullpup conversion and will probably have a much shittier trigger. Desert Tech has some good experience making bullpup triggers. I am looking forward to the regular MSBS though
>>29737899
The RDB is already out and people have been purchasing them?
i want a mdr-c with an OSS suppressor

>>29739412
> Regular MSBS
Fingers crossed the 7.62x51 version lights a fire under FN's ass to get that 20" SCAR 17 to market.
>>29739367
Assuming both are similarly reliable and accurate (there have been sub-MOA claims of the MDR on facebook), MDR, no question. Out of the box ambi with zero need to reconfigure to shoot off both shoulders from any position should be a default factor. I'm a lefty, so it is absolutely priority one for me.
I'm also more likely to use the MDR's caliber conversion capability (as gimmicky as it is) than the MSBS's conventional to bullpup conversion. I can't think of a single civilian reason to want that other than novelty. It makes sense for a military buyer from a logistical standpoint, but for a private owner? I like the look of the 19" MDR echo in 6.5CM in addition to a .223 rifle. Not many self-loading rifles have a common receiver that can use both .308-class and .223-class chamberings. I can only think of the SCAR and Colt 901 off the top of my head.
>>29739517
On one hand, it's a precision engineered piston machine that throws tiny metal rocks out at 2700 fps, more than enough to tear a hole in me.
On the other, that's probably the most phallic thing I can imagine ever taking to a rifle range. I can imagine two 250lbs rednecks giving each other an uneasy look when you pull that out of a hard case.
>>29739567
You whip yours out and give them the most sultry look you can, faggot
looks like a bullpup ACR
>>29739538
I didn't know about the MDR caliber conversion. That's pretty cool.
> Sub-moa claims
I'm about done with the internet and their <1moa claims. I keep hearing how everyone and their nephew got an off-the-shelf sub-moa AR, but I've yet to see anywhere near the same ratio of 5 round groups emerge at the range (crusty old farmers and their 20" prairie dog guns withstanding).
>>29739584
> Implying I wouldn't lick my thumb and wipe off an imaginary dust spec right on the tip before giving their terribly bored and oh-so-blonde daughter the old DreamWorks face.
>>29737869
>Most aesthetic bullpup
>comes in .308
>kinda forward ejecting, not that I really care about this
I want one.
>>29738218
From the look of it, they replaced yogurt with jizz.
>>29739742
>the internet and their <1moa claims
In this case, it was from the lead engineer and echoed by the recoil magazine article.
>>29739845
We'll see. Certainly wouldn't hurt my desire to own one.
>>29739742
This.
>>29739918
Also this.
>>29740254
That put down is recycled as shit and you know you can do better.
(Also, fuck you and your Ronnie & Chicken McNugget implications. I'm at least M Dude level.)
>>29737869
Sven, Pres. of Manticore Arms said on bullpup forums "don't expect production models of the rifle til 2017. Consider that inside information"
Considering Manticore arms produces aftermarket upgrades to this, and other rifles, I trust he has a good idea on when they will be for sale to the public
>>29739042
Absolutely.

>>29741995
Well meme'd.
I'm willing to bet the MDR will handle mud just fine.
>>29740385
Whoops. Forgot to rename file
> mfwMDRarrives
>>29741974
Gonna be pretty disappointing to all the people paying full price down preorders to wait another 6 months over what they were already promised, after already having missed their previous 2015 deadline due to the fire/water damage.
>>29737869
It's fuck ugly
But I'm a butthurt left handed poor fag so I'm biased.
