I have this Vz 58 with pic related as scope mount rail. Will PSOs or those picanntiny rail mounts from CSA fit it?
Also Vz58 General
>>
Bump.

Would like to know, also
>>
>>29736252
I've never seen a mount like that before. I don't think it'd fit a PSO.

OP here
That's how i bought it in a gun shop. A friend once lend me a russian red dot sight with a similar mount and it fit
I have also seen another kommando here with one.
The gun is a CZH 2003 if that helps

If it's anything like mine, it'll take the ak mount but not the svd mounts.
I'm not sure if it's some home made failure of a mount that caused him to sell his gun, or if it'll actually work.
Part of me thinks you should just remove it to remove weight and not risk dropping hundreds on a scope just to find out which one it is.

Wait OP, that's cz 2003 sport. It'S a semi converted military surplus original from Czech Republic by a company called Hermex.

Where the hell did you get original semi converted surplus? :D

Anyways, despite it being kinda beat down, you're lucky, those are great rifles. Much better than the AK or SKS in my opinion

These look kinda like the scope mounts on the Vz 58 Pi variant but shorter. I guess maybe certain scopes originally designed for the Vz 58 pi could be used, but you should test that.

Euro fag here. Own both surplus vz58 and sks. Sks shoots better, but I prefer the overall of the vz.
>>
>>29744700
That so? I have an SKS too and my Vz shoots slightly better, though it is strange since both use short stroke system and SKS is heavier with a longer barrel.

Although, my SKS is from Norinco.

Where is your SKS from?
>>
>>29744747
Tula.
>>
>>29744790
Ah. Tula is good shit.
>>
>>29744809
Indeed. Especially for 200€.
The wood could have been in better shape, but the gun is... was unfired.

I don't even know what scopes you'd be referring to.
Either way, these rails that czechpoint uses only accapt ak rail scopes.

I haven't seen a difference between my vz and sks, both shoot really well if I do my part. The main accuracy difference I noticed is when I went off of golden tiger briefly, never touching bear ammo or any other brand of ammo, again. It sure make scope sighting a PITA, literally impossible to get a happy zero till I switched back.
The other difference I notice is that the sks punches through my steel just a little better. My steel is right at that thickness where 545 and 762 can barely make it through at best so I see the difference.

Yeah, SKS has longer barrel, so higher muzzle energy naturally.

The Vz 58 pi optics looked like http://1gr.cz/fotky/idnes/07/122/maxi/RJA1fb42f_P8149680.JPG
Though very few of them were ever sold to public....

I dunno man. i'm fairly sure the PSO has a different rail and so does the CSA, see here https://www.czechpoint-usa.com/files/files/produkty/1399495077_lpm_rail.jpg

Still, not sure installing optics on the rifle is even worth it. It's a 7,62x39 carbine, after all.

I'll tell you if I find anything about the rail though.

That sure is an ugly, awkward, and heavy looking optic, not that pso/posps are much better.
>Still, not sure installing optics on the rifle is even worth it.
Honestly, it's not really worth it for range time. I just wanted to do it. I like trying things out.
I've had some good clanks out to 400 with optics aiding somewhat. But it'd be more useful if I was actually hunting instead of shooting at steel targets that stand out like a sore thumb in the snow. I can usually make those same shots with irons almost just as easily unless the lighting is bad.

>>29744583
Waffen Ingold (a swiss gun shop) had them
This was the last one. First when i saw it i thought, who would want such an ugly gun. then I discovered /k/ and learned more about this beautiful rifle and bought it later
I love it

anyway, so this rail could be a original czech/czechoslovak army rail?

Here's my opinion on things to look into.
>stripper clips
Because they're so much easier to have with, since they actually fit in pockets and take up very little space per round.
>both stock styles so it's handy for anything
Most at least come with the wire folders, which feel like crap compared to the fixed stock. Still, they're probably my favorite feeling wire folder by a long shot.
>10rd mags if you want it even lighter and more compact for a vehicle or just lugging around
>czechpoint 10rd mag pouch like pic related
even if you don't do 10rd mags, it's a great way to carry 6 10rd strippers comfortably since it weighs very little and also doesn't make you look like a weirdo while wearing it
>>29747353
and yeah, a sling
bayonets are cool, but not really a "must have" imo
