Ausfag here, i live in one of the many suburban areas around a major city, have all my life...sure you can see the sky, the stars, but i didnt realise just how amazing the night sky can be till i took a trip out to central Australia, some middle of nowhere campground, i looked up and was amazed...it was night sky unlike any id seen before or since.
Everyone should see the night sky unpoluted by man made light at least once in their life.
