Is writing blood type on boots, vest helmet etc a good idea? Does it have any real merit?

Is putting the blood on the boots within regs? I'm not in theater so I also don't want to look like a faggot.

Why do people think shooting 12 ga with two handholds but no stock is fierce?

It actually feels less strong than with a stock for me, just use your arms lik3 hydalic recoil absorbers, let the gun kick back some, no stock means it can go back without hitting much.

Meanwhile a stock is more accurate but feels very imbalancing, getting hit in just one shoulder repeatedly.
>>
I've been shooting for a couple months now-- mostly on my 410 and a 22 rifle.

I tried out my dads 12 gauge and held it very hard on my shoulder.

My shoulder was completely fine but the shockwave on my face and the jolt to my head and neck was just so unpleasant I had to stop after a few shots.

What's the best spotting scope under $200?

I'm only going to be using it with .308 rifles and I don't think I can find a range over 500 yards so it doesn't need to be that good. Also bonus points for something I can take while hiking or used like a telescope.
>>
>>29728992
Why not 12x50 binoculars, most spotting scopes dont lend well to hiking.

9mm is more common, less noisy, beats the gun up less and has similar ballistics with modern defensive ammo. The only use for blastier auto calibers like .40, .357 SIG and 10mm is when penetration is a top priority - hikers or people worried about body armor.

It's known as a type 3 licence. It basically means that the ATF has vetted you and under the gun control acts created after the Kennedy assassination you can legally have certain guns mailed to your home. After Kennedy was killed it was found that Oswald ordered the gun from Klines in Chicago, a milsurp dealer. So in the wake of his death they made it illegal to send guns via mail order.

>>
>>29730344

Any bolt action in a full size cartridge will work. An AR in 5.56 would be okay if you avoid the shoulder.

>>29731757

I was taught to create a vice between the shoulder and trigger hand to immobilize the rifle. I generally try and keep my support arm as relaxed as possible to keep my aim steady when shooting offhand.

That is just how shotguns are. You have to use a little bit different of a cheek weld on a 12 gauge. It's kind of the same, but a little higher and your face is kind of floating there instead of a hard weld. When the shotgun fires, let your head go with the recoil instead of keeping it plastered to the stock. Cheek slap sucks, especially from a 12 gauge firing slugs.

>>29733953
At this point you might as well just buy Arsenal, maybe DDI if you can't quite afford it. Pretty much everything else is fucking junk in at least one way or another. WASRs can be alright but you need to replace the furniture right away because it'll crack. Literally anything 100% American made is garbage. AK operators Union did some videos on the RAS47. It was "fireable" after 5000 rounds but had lost any real combat effectiveness after like 2500 rounds which is fucking ridiculous. The irons were completely fucked, rivets were working loose, the stock needed to be held on by fucking duct tape and had split nearly in half, dust cover rattled like crazy. About the only saving grace was that the barrel was still accurate. They had to stick a side rail and optic on it to shoot it properly.

What's a good IWB holster that will fit a P83 Wanad? Also, what would be the best position to wear it while onna run? Appendix, small of back, etc?
>>
>>29731815
Not worth it. You don't know how much those filters could have been shaken up, ad the protective layer inside degrades over time. If you want to wear a mask that uses asbestos filters, look around online and find one of the hollowed out filter shells that people sometimes sell on ebay. (IDK how common they are to find, though).

TL;DR;
Don't try your luck.

>>
>>29730843
Short recoil vs long recoil?
Short recoil operation means that the barrel and chamber only move back a small amount before the action unlocks, usually less than a centimeter, but it depends on the gun.

Long recoil means that the whole barrel and bolt assemblies move backwards the full length of a cartridge, then they unlock, and the barrel assembly separates from the bolt and slides forwards, ejecting the brass. Once the barrel is all the way forward, the bolt unlocks and chambers a round before locking back into the barrel.

Long recoils is generally extinct, because the mechanism is much more complex, and requires two main springs, one for the barrel and one for the bolt, which makes it more difficult to rack the gun.

I personally like long recoil guns better, mostly because they have a much cooler sound when the action is run, a longer recoil impulse, and usually have a much nicer ROF.
>>
>>29730843
Long/short action is shorthand for bolt gun reciever length.

There's 4 main lengths that companies make for bolt rifles.

>.223
For shorter bolt throw on small rounds like .223
>Short Action
For around .308-length rounds, some companies put their .223's in short action guns to save money, leaving a lot of wasted space.
>Long Action
For longer rounds like .30/06, 8mm, .270, .300 Short Mag. Some companies smash their .300 Win Mag's into long actions, which limits your bullet length, as most heavy bullets make the rounds too long to fit in the reciever.
>Magnum Action
This is the reciever you want for the Win Mags, Rem Mags, and H&H's, since you can load any weight bullets for the magnums. I don't think it's long enough for the .458 Lott.

It doesn't really affect AR's too much, since AR10's are considered short action, and there might be 1 company that makes a long/magnum action(whoever makes that .300 WM ar)

>>
>>29736371
You aren't making a bad mistake for the money and reliability. And yeah, they do have a record of brass bashing with bad port buffers, but there isn't much better in the market, just check the thing when you get it.

Well, I don't live in the ghetto or anything, but it's not exactly the NICEST neighborhood either, I take no chances.

I guess shoulder rig is reasonable, I was messing around with my robe a bit, and I guess if I put the gun in the pocket and tie the OTHER side over the side with the pocket and gun, it isn't all that conspicious, because only really the tip of the barrel is printing outside of the flap-over and that could really be anything, its a little worse for fast-draw than having it in the outer pocket, but it's still reasonable, like it'd just look like I'm reaching to scratch my balls or something

Got this knife recently and the only complaint o have is lack of texture on the handle. It's micarta with minor jean type texture. Was wondering if anyone had some recommendations for improving the grip. Was debating cutting some minor channels with my dremel diagonally between riveted spots, or getting grip tape, but I'd prefer not to as I like the coloring of the handle.

Any suggestions?

Where can I buy binoculars with rangefinding systems engraved onto the lens ala STALKER. What are such things called? Do they even exist?

>Does it make any sense to set up an NFA trust now if you live in a state that bans silencers but intend to move to freedom in a year or so?
Bump. Are NFA trusts tied to the state you live in when you set them up, or what?

I just scratch up the grip with 80 grit sandpaper, but it doesn't look pretty afterwards, grips nice though.

I was in the last thread asking about a reliable handgun, I'm ready to make a purchase but I'm apprehensive about buying my first online. I know this is kind of a stretch but would any of you know of a good gun shop in the Seattle area? Or is it worth the extra fees to go online to get something I really want?

Depends on the language of the trust.

Some trusts could have verbiage that might not be valid in another state. Best to get a universal trust.

bretty funs. Would buying a mossberg 500 and putting wood furniture with a raptor grip be worth it?
