What is the most outrageoulsly overpriced shot you've ever seen? I was perusing the cases at a pawn shop near me, and I saw a P38 for THREE FUCKING THOUSAND DOLLARS. It was labeled "Nazi P38" even though it was obviously a P1 because of the darker finish and black plastic grips. Went back a few months later just because I was bored and had time to burn and the case it was in was empty, so presumably some dumbass actually bought it.
>>
pic unrelated btw
>>
During the sandy vagina panic my friend's dad bought a barebones CMMG 16" AR for $3k

He also bought an M70 underfolder AK for $900

it's a pawn shop special one they never expect you to pay whats on the tag if its over a couple hundred dollars. I once got a skillsaw for 10 bucks because i told the idjut at the register that the nut that holds the blade is impossible to find and a set of dies and taps for 5 because they had "rust"

Some guy near me is trying to sell 400 round of .308 for $275 obo
>>
Right after Sandy Vag, a local chain of pawn stores jacked their prices on everything semi-auto to ludicrous levels. Like, 3000 for ANY used AR, and 2000 for ANY used AK(at a minimum, there were plenty of both up to double that.) I watched a guy buy a WASR with everything that could be wrong with it, wrong with it, for 2100 with no magazine. The same day I watched a guy pick up an RPK,supposedly new in the box, for 4000. It was unreal.

$7000 for a MSAR STG 556 (mislabeled as an AUG).
>>
>>29724602
I once went to a gun shop where they were selling a Sporterized Mosin for 450 bucks. It was a 91/30 that some one choped the fore-arm off.
>>
>>29724651
or the $1+ per round for green tips during that short scare.
>>
used M&P 9mm for $760

wait, that's a reasonable price in california

I've seen a guy who buys an SKS, sands the stock and refinishes it, cleans the cosmoline and thinks he can resell them for 150$ more than he bought it

Doesn't even come with plates.

Refinishing jobs are some times expensive. If this guy knows what the fuck he's doing that's about premium price for refinishing. Just have to hope you find the one guy that really wants a refinished piece of shit
>>
What would reasonable pricing for a WW2 era P38 be?

I saw a samco rechambering of a spanish Mauser to .308 for $300. When I showed him that they went for $110 or so from Samco, he lowered it to $200.

I would shoot myself if I could afford to.

LGS has an "antique" Mosin with sling and bayonet for like $500 last I checked. And it was beat to all hell.

I could get a Mosin for ~$200 and a kit with sling and bayonet online for like $100-$150.
>>
Maybe not the most ridiculous, but I still see bricks of .22 for $55-60, and 50 round boxes for $5-6, at every gun show.
>>
>>29727293
Christ, last time I saw any .22 around where I'm at it was $10 for a box of 50

An ISSC M22 listed at $545. Just because it's uncommon doesn't mean it's valuable, the thing is worth 200 new.

"Antique WW2 7.62x54r Russian Mosin-Nagant 1891/30 Rifle" for $900. You pay for the adjectives.

There was a guy on a classifieds site advertising a Glock 34 for around $4,000 IIRC
Literally just because it's serial number was all eights or something. Fucking Chinese
>>
>>29729703
irl quints?
>>
>>29729852
I think it was more like a few sequential eights in the number, but I don't remember for sure
>>
>>29724602
Some P38's had black plastic party grips and easily pull in over $2000, plus the wartime models had a much darker finish than postwar models you fuckin scrub.

>>29724662
New Auto 5's retail at $1300.

>>29724674
That's less than $0.70 a round, why are you complaining?

Fucking idiots.
>>
>>29727264
If it's a rare variant, it could actually be worth what they're asking. Contrary to popular belief, there actually are some Mosins that are worth money.
>>
>>29731989
Is there really any 91/30 worth any more than another besides it being a sniper model or "This was XYs personal hunting rifle."?
>>
>>29731962
Yea, and I can get a used auto 5 (like that was in the pawn shop) for $500-700
Fucking idiot
>>

Off the roster so it's normal

>>29727016
800 bucks for real ww2 p38 not post war p1
>>
Shop down here has a k31 for 1300 bucks
says it comes with some 22lr kit that is rare lol
>>
>>29731962
Because half of the ammo is made up of Czechslovak military surplus that's corrosive and not relodable.
>>
>>29727293
That's nothing I've seen a box of CCI stinger for 30 bucks
>>
After Sandy Hook, I saw a guy pay $1.500 for a single stack N-Pap at a gun store.

Found a beat to shit model 10 at a pawn shop. They wanted $800 for it. It had been there so long the price tag had faded.

My favorite was a K98 in a fancy display case with a nazi flag and bring back papers for $3,000. I asked if I could see the rifle outside the case, and the guy grudgingly got it out for me. It was a Yugo.
