>do some digging
>all of these pic related bad-ass career fields minus security forces

da fuk?

Combat Control have the best headwear.
>>
>>29714250
Did another Marine call you soft at a TDY anon? Chill, you get a rental car and your own hotel room, enjoy the benefits.
>>
>>29714250
The percentage of airmen in those career fields is insignificant.
>>
>>29714348

Are all Army/Marines infantry?
>>
>>29714357
>>29714250

POGs gonna POG.
>>
>>29714250
JTAC here, i don't get why so many wash out. Its not that hard
>>
>>29715417

Might be the psychological pressure of going into what is essentially infantry+.
>>
>people here and elsewhere ragging on the Air Force for being soft

yes, because that is the majority and their sof is the extreme minority.
>>
>>29714357
there's probably more infantry in a battalion than sof in the air force
>>
>>29715604
>>29715625

Does that make an Army/Marine POG any less a POG than an Air Force POG?
>>
Security Forces are bitches.

The ones I meet at Balad complained about having to pull gate guard to the flight line. they didn't have to wear armor, helmet, or load bearing gear. They just stood next to their air conditioned cuck shed with a M4 and one magazine of ammo. All they had to do was to make sure Iraqis and Poo in the Loos didn't walk onto the runway or tarmac.

>mfw I'm going to rucker this year

will u touch my peepee
>>
>>29715662
yes
>>
>>29716065
I fucking love it man. Spend lots of time inna woods. Teach survival and evasion. Go to cool guy schools and do some awesome missions.
>>
>>29716092

>He actually believes this
>>
>>29716088
Not at Rucker - I'm at Fairchild bae. But I would.
>>
>>29715662
Yes, significantly.

Listen man. Chair force is legitimately fucking soft. By which I mean their lives and the cultural experience is literally so much better.

I'm a Marine POG and basically the whole fucking Marine Corps Ethos is based off of the infantry man, despite the fact that we out number grunts the Marine Corps is very much an infantry men's organization and all POGs are outcasts who exist merely to facilitate the existence and operation of the infantry.
>>
>>29715417
realizing they'll be stuck with the army for their entire career
>>
>>29714250
Wow, US berets really look bad
>>
>>29716118
how often do marine pogs shoot after basic?
to supplement the above, how often do pogs in general shoot after basic?
>>
>>29716118
why would you go marines and not take infantry?
>>
>>29716118
>My dad's tours in the shit where soft
>Like when the rockets were hitting the base
Granted he was a ES&RQ pilot, but come on
>>
>>29715662
percentage wise yes. there are several divisions of combat arms in the army and usmc. there's a battalion worth of sof in the air force.
>>
>>29715450
I mean i guess so, i guess a good percentage get injuries too.
>>29716015
TACP. Sometimes i wonder what it could have been like if i went into sere instead.
>>29716136
This guy just may have bit the nail on the head.
>>
>>29716206
>lets not count the pilots guys hehehehehehehehehe
>>
>>29716217
Shit man, I've seriously thought about becoming a TACP officer after working with you guys as much as I do (Went to jump with TACP guys, also weapons school, red flag blah blah blah). I love SERE and it's fucking awesome but you guys always seem to be doing some fun stuff.
>>
>>29716226
so if you add in pilots you'll barely have a regiment. that's so much better.
>>
>>29716242
Wanna tradesies for a day!?
>>
>>29716226
even the drone pilots that sit in air conditioned rooms? lol
>>
The af has a completely different mentality then the army and marines when it comes to being a pog, they just embrace it. Meanwhile the army and marines has half the leadership try Harding to be like combat arms which just makes things gayer.

OMG YES
>>
>>29716312
Have you seen the National Geographic special on PJs? They sit in air-conditioned rooms all day.
>>
>>29716364
well that doesn't surprise me that much, our cct sat in his room and played online poker all day unless there was an actual mission besides training. Lucky bastard.
>>
>>29714250
is there a similar pic with army berets?

What do you guys even do for your job?

Obviously not everyone is an instructor/cadre, so what do joe SERE dudes do? (for example)

Are you a deploying job? If so, what would you even do?

I'm legitimately curious, seems like a sweet garrison gig, but I get the impression that you aren't attached to anything or would ever see outside the wire in that job.
>>
>>29716254
Oh yeah cause its not like the Air force already has divided their Sof and Combat up in to Wings, which are the same size as regiments, and theres ~4 Sof wings and ~10 combat wings
>>
>>29714250

I knew a guy that was in the airforce during Vietnam as a security guy.

During a exercise where people were being held hostage in a "nuclear weapons storehouse".

His response. Lob a few grenades in there and be done with it, if they are in the nuke warehouse already, its to late to save anyone.
>>
>>29716582
those formations have totally different numbers in their respective branches. there are more navy seals than every sof in the air force combined. every navy seal is direct combat. most air force sof are combat support.
>>
>>29716226
Why wouldn't a pilot be a POG? Especially drone pilots and cargo/transportation pilots.
>>
>>29716746
Considering that theres more Combat (fighters) and other Sofs (S&R) than Cargo, and way more than Drone pilots.
>POG in the Air Force means Person on Ground
>>
>>29716839
I'm pretty sure the guy originally using the word meant it in a away that signifies ground combat. Since pilots aren't exchanging gun fire with rifles, they're not counted in the conversation.
>>
>>
>>29716558
When deployed we work personnel recovery or other stuff with Other Governmental Agencies.
