I can agree on some level. Went to Floral Gun shop here in South Africa yesterday. Got to rent out an AK47 (Chinese), FN FAL, and a AK74SU (converted to .223).
Even with all of the relatively inexpensive toys we get in Canada I really wish we didn't have the pants on head regarded regulations.
Oh, and as icing on the cake there are no mag limits in South Africa. Ammo is about 1/3 of the price when you rent a firearm at the gun shop, guns were cheap rent cost too($10 Cdn for a rifle, $5 for a handgun and that's me rounding up in relation to the Rand).

Apparently they charge 10 RMB per round, which is about $1.50 US kek. I would mainly just go to look and maybe shoot something like a Type 80 (PKM clone) or something else hard to find in America.
