There was no fill spigot on Vickers or maxims. There is a fill cap and separate steam spigot though.

It's late version Maxim. Fill cap was enlarged after the Finnish war. It allows the water jacket to be filled with snow instead of water.
I don't understand commotion. Semi-auto Maxims are 250- 280 thousand roubles, that's 3.7-4.2K dollars. DP27 are 60 thousand roubles, less than 1K dollars.
